Lol. At least they didn't ask if you buy it for your boyfriend or brother.

"Lucky" east-european countries still can't get anything but standard edition for PC. I feel discriminated. Oh, well, not  the first time. Preordered Witcher CE btw, without any trouble. Had to support slavic brothers.

It may be that the employee's themselves don't actually care. It may be just a job to them so they don't really know themelves

At the end of the day this is the most likely answer.  You'd think a game shop would be best staffed by gamers, but maybe they'd be too fractious about their favourite games and/or game-playing machines to be much use to customers :D

That being said, the sort of sexist behaviour described is unacceptable.... though sadly not unexpected, the gits.

weird, because my local EB Games is staffed by gamers. yes most of them are Console Gamers and I use PC exclusively - my Console is used by my daughter. But we have quite long chats when I come in and know them all by first names, we tend to chat about what games are coming out and what games I've used in class rooms to teach with. My first reaction would have been obviously the staff don't know her personally.

Come to think of it, I would say the staff was just not very experienced. Maybe the clerk I spoke with was new at his job. Still, I was really annoyed and I hope he changes his attitude in the future. But, well... Bygones.

You could use a forwarding service like skypax (for uk). As now you the CE edition is available online within the EU the extra cost of VAT shouldn't be there when they ship it to you. As I live in a country without a gamestop I'm using that way to still get the CE. The biggest downside it that I will get it way later as they need to ship it to me after they got it them self, but I just couldn't pass up this CE edition.

How would that work exactly? Cause I really want to get my hands on a CE, and won't mind if I would have to wait a bit longer to get it.

At my local it's a mixture, the majority are gamers, and of them a mix of PC and console. But there are a couple of them that are there just to work, they don't have an actual interest in gaming. After all it's not a requirement, they are more likely to hire someone with experience in the commercial sector than a gamer.

Cancelled pre-order from states.

Ordered CE from Gamestop. Bit expensive, but there you go.

Just realised something... The UK PC version has gone down by £10 and the description no longer includes reference to a deluxe version. Same with Aussie version perhaps and we'll have to pay for the deluxe bits later.

You sign up at (for example) at skypax.com. For one time shipping there you can choose the one time membership (12 pound) and as soon as you do that you get an address from them which you can use for online webshops. This address include a 'suite' number which skypax uses to identify for which account the package arrives and is needed to be included in the address you give on gamestop. I did ask if it was a problem if you signed up now and the package arrived months later and your account will stay active until a package arrives and you choose to ship it to you. Shipping will be a bit more expansive than most webshops are, but this way at least you will be able to get the CE edition.

A side note: This is the first time I use a service like this so I myself have no actual experience with any step except signing up. The info is from there website and a mail asking them if there was a time limit on the one time membership.

Well it still has all the deluxe bonus features listed in the content, so I'm not sure if we will get the deluxe version or not. I sure hope so.

They've since removed the Flames of the Inquisition content. It's now down as TBA. Console versions still have it listed.

*sigh* Guess i'm firing off another round of e-mails.

The response I got said "The PC version will come with the exact same content as for the other platforms" but then went on to list the physical stuff in the case.  So I requested clarification that it will also include all the digital content as well - and they "can confirm that the PC version will have the same digital content as well as the physical content".

So now I guess we'll see.

I got exactly the same and on clarification they said that the dlc was exactly the same across all platforms. I pointed out that they may want to update their web page as it's not clear.

I'm keeping the emails though...

Just got a new email. The PC edition is not the deluxe edition, you'll only get as yet unannounced dlc. Order cancelled. US order back on.

I really think the people who work at these stores need to be better informed, for the "unannounced DLC" is part of the Deluxe version of the game so I can't see why it wouldn't have the other Deluxe content if it has that one piece of it.

Okay, yet another email sent off so they can hopefully tell me what's what. Fingers crossed... though I think the 'desk' is closed over the weekend, dammit.

Weird, website tells me that it can only be ordered in one of their stores. Yet when I asked (out of curiosity) the guy in the store didn't know anything about an Inquisitors Edition for PC...

This is the email I got:

Begins

Thank you for contacting GameStop

I am sorry to say this but we have now just been informed that the information regarding the deluxe version of the game we have provided you with is not correct.

I sincerely apologize for giving you the wrong information regarding this, but the PC edition will not be including the deluxe version.
You will however get bonus content with the game that is not yet revealed.

I am really sorry of this, it was not in my intention to mislead you like this.

Ends

There's something about paying £129 for something and then paying extra to get content that should come with it. So I've cancelled it and ordered it from the States.

How are you ordering it from the States when they don't deliver outside the US? Do you have a US contact to get it sent to or some such?

(cross-posted question for both crowds)

They have it. I ordered mine in store. They propably have to look it up on there computer.

As far as I see it, the german website still lists all deluxe content for PC. Mark Darrah has only confirmed, that Australia isn't getting the DE, but I believe he's looking into it.
