If you order whatever version you want thru origin it is the same price, for pc that is.

Not that only a few countries can get it anyway, every country seems to get different versions for PC. Some get the DE, some don't and it's not in retail anywhere outside NA. And now France finay gets it, but without the game? O.o

I can't believe what I just did...  I just cancelled my pre-order for this collector's edition.

 

I was so pissed when I thought this edition wouldn't come out in my country.  Yet, it finally did (albeit without the game) and I hurriedly pre-ordered it.  Yet here we are, a few days later and I find myself cancelling it.  It's just not worth it.  The only two things that really do interest me are the coins and the tarot cards (and that's mostly for the art of them than the actual tarot card aspect).  No need for war pieces, map, quill and ink, etc.  A big box that will just stay in a corner of my room or in storage and collect dust...

 

And then, there are just too many other good collector's editions for other games, like Assassin's Creed Unity, etc for similar prices or even for less money.  I just can't justify the amount they ask for this collector's edition.  It might be rare and expensive, but ultimately not that interesting.  That's it for me.  I'll be sticking to standard edition of DAI . NO REGRETS!!!

The way you are describing your feeling towards this Collector's Edition is the way I feel about most, the more physical items they try and cram into it, the less likely I am to buy it for I don't have a spot to display that sort of thing anymore.

"it" can't possibly be the Collector's Edition (Inquisitor's Edition), as that's a Gamestop exclusive. It will not be released on Amazon.

If you're referring to a different version of the game... where you pre-order that is entirely up to you.

You're confusing the Deluxe Edition with the Inquisitor's Edition (CE). The latter (which is what this thread is about) is a GameStop exclusive.

Sighs Seems like I'll wait until the Standard Edition is cheaper, since I can't buy the digital version on Origin and importing is not an option where I live.

That's the theory, yes.  We don't know anything more than "there should be, yes" at the moment though.

Seriously, I don't see how making this exclusive to gamestop was the only way this CE would exist. As many people voice their displeasure at the way gamestop does business, why give them such a big exclusive? On top of that, could the announcement of the CE have been handled any worse? By the time people actually knew what was going on, it was too late.
