Space. Pure and simple. There are already 3 romances per gender (not including Kelly), and this game is already on two disks.
My advice is to scream like made for a same-sex DLC. I mention it when I can.
Lets do it everyone start making same sex threads

It hasn't been completely written off yet... I'm probably just grasping straws but there have been people talking, bottom line is that nobody can confirm or deny it until the game is released.
Besides apparently a interview with Best Buy, stating that there are no F/F. Who knows, they rick roll'd us with Tali they maybe Rick Rolling us with this as well

So...no problems romancing aliens with a completely different biological makeup, razor sharp teeth, mandibles, three toes and fingers, but the thought of romancing humans of the same-sex would be outrageous?
Stop this Bioware hates minority BS. ITs their game if they felt it wouldn't work, they aren't going to force it so a minority feels special.

See, that's why a same-sex DLC will be prefect. People who want the option can get it, people who don't can have an incomplete game. Everyone wins.

The irony of this statement boggles my mind. As Guillermo del Toro put it. Monsters are indeed the last minority.

My only problem with that interview is that he used a lot of "I thinks" and got names wrong and all sorts of stuff.

So a Same-Sex Fling may yet be possible.

Humans and Asari, you mean? I doubt it, but who knows.
asari cant be gay.
and as to the OP, when your making a compelling story, you have to prioritize. DA:O was a new game and probably used as a testing ground for gay relation ships in video games. meanwhile mass effect 2 was made normally with normal relationships. if you see the return of gay relations in the new DA Xpack, then you will prob see em in ME3

Yeah enjoy your Elcors and Hanaars. Though the joke would be on me because I would buy that. xP

That still leaves m/m in the dust. Now, I don't like playing a male Shepard and would probably never go for this option anyway, but a lot of people would and I would like to see it in the game.
And the beauty of a same-sex romance DLC is that most of the dialog is already in the game and it would be simple to put in. For males, I'm thinking Jacob and Thane. For females, Subject Zero and Tali.

Well from my understand a male Shepard can romance Thane so why not have a female Shepard romance a female teammate? If there going to have one they might as well have the other. I myself am straight but it's only fair.
Could have sworn I heard somewhere on a interview Thane was... I think it was Sci vs Fi... oh well.

I'd love to see if they made a game with a forced gay main characted and provided only one M/M and one F/F love interest.
I'd love to see the breeders freak.

Since Asari are all the same gender, any Asari/Asari coupling would technically be homosexual.

it would be easier but BioWare obviously had a preset mindset to Commander Sheperd and apparently that Commander isnt gay. I mean if I had someone play through my life in anyway they wanted, the only thing I would want be the same would be my sexuality. And plus, if there was gay sex all the republicans in the world would burn ME2 copies by the truck load.

Tbh the major irk is I would imagine being dragon age needing me to go and gift someone to hell and back for the relationship to happen. In mass effect 1 however it could happen just by checking up speaking to them which I did to them all because they are fun characters but that doesn't mean I want to go have sex with Wrex, Garrus and kaidan even if I am curious about the Krogan testicle thing, Garrus you bastard!skitchin2112 wrote...

I mean if they put just one in you would be happy right? It is just the idea of all my squad-mates wanting to plow me because I like their personalities makes my headspin. It needs to sync well imo.
Saying that I'm sure you'd be happy with 1 character each though right?

Breeders is kind of a negative term. Anyway, I want the option to be there. The more options, the better. And there are a lot of great options in Mass Effect 2, just none for same-sex romances. And I can understand why too. However, there are two romances in Mass Effect 2 that I would bet my left arm were put in because of fan support. We everyone who wants a same-sex romance pushs for it, a DLC is possible and that's the direction I think we should go.
And a game with a gay main character would be great.
