What? I don't follow you here. Are you saying that accuracy boosts so not benefit the Talon? Because if you're saying that, then you're dead wrong...

You missed the reference man.

Back to the original question- no, it's definitely not a mediocre weapon, I would say it's a very good weapon for power classes (but then again, it's a matter of each one's opinion and taste: some may say "no way, the XY is much better!"- and I wouldn't dissagree, because it's really a matter of personal preference and playstyle.)

I always charge it before shooting and until now I've never found the recoil to be annoying or even noticeable.

There are those of us who believe the Arc Pistol is a mediocre weapon period!

Then the combined wrath of BSN descends to crush us into oblivion

It's a fantastic caster gun. Like capn223 you can hold the charge when casting a power. Charge your Arc pistol, fire off your power and then fire the charged shot. I also think that you're overstating the Arc's recoil, it's not that big a kick and it's 100% vertical which can be compensated for very easily (on PC at least.) I don't think I ever missed a power because I fired a charged Arc pistol before casting it, maybe at extreme long range where power auto targeting is not applicable.

Also, no, you're not the only one who always charges the gun before shooting, that's how it should be done.

That said. Slasher... 1vs1 me babby with a caster and an arc pistol... I'll bring my FQE and I'll show you how a real "caster" deals with enemies

I don't mind a duo at all. But nothing is gonna convince me to change my opinion about claymore not being a caster weapon. I tried it on a few engineers and adepts, and the fact that I was able to cast overload/incinerate/warp only once every 5 seconds really bugged me. I felt like my weapon was doing majority of the killing that game. If I want such a game, I'd play a soldier or infiltrator. That's what I think. The main reason I love adepts and engineers is because they can set up combos quickly to deal with mobs and I was unable to do that as freely with claymore.

I'd rather pick arc pistol, talon, wraith, csmg, venom over claymore anyday for a caster. Just my opinion :)

Claymore is definitely better than CSMG on a caster.  CSMG works ok for Incendiary Shenanigans, but Claymore actually kills enemy units and its sustained armor DPS as typically modded is superior to CSMG's single clip armor DPS.

As for the rest... they are all way up on the overpowered weapons list, so it may in fact be wiser to take them than the Claymore from a max / min perspective.

It's a tremendous weapon on just about any class for those that are good at using charged weapons.  For me I use it a lot on the Aadept because it is probably the best stasis sniping weapon of the pistol class.  I don;t use it often with other classes though because I'm not that great at using charged weapons on the fly.  (One reason I rarely use the fabulous Acolyte, I'm just not good at running, charging, aiming in cohesion.)

No. I finally used it on AA the other day and it was very good.  You can hold the charge while casting and shoot whatever.  The "classic" use of Arc Pistol was on Turian Sentinel and he also casts powers. :)

The only downside was that I was running a passive-less AA and I didn't quite have enough damage to one-shot a gold Hunter, at least not with just Drill 3.

AA is my favorite class for the Arc Pistol.  I usually run 6/6/6/5/3 to get the extra headshot bonus.  With the Asari dodge and Stasis bubble, it's decently survivable even without fitness or Cyclonics.  I usually run Warp Ammo, but against Geth, maybe AP, Drill or Phasic would be better.

EDIT:  If you're not quite one-shotting a mook, Throw usually makes short work of them.

Don't see how Claymore is an abomination on AA given that we have seen elite Asari run the real Claymore before.

My trouble with the arc pistol (and all charge mechanic weapons), is that I can't use whatever power is on the right bumper button.

You must use the claw.

In the technique of claw, nothing is beyond your grasp!

Shoot everything with your middle finger as your foes are abominations.

Use your Index to cast forth the power of the right upon your foes and fill them with the seed of destruction!!!

The claymore on the AA is an abomination of the highest sorts.

If by abomination of the highest sort you mean the best thing that can happen in this game after Drell, then yeah. Oh but wait, I forgot rule #2 of the caster commandments: thou shall not play the weapon.

Given that rule #1for you is thou shall not reload cancel... I think I'm gonna wash my hands of this weirdness.

I don't mind a duo at all. But nothing is gonna convince me to change my opinion about claymore not being a caster weapon. Hey, hope you know I was just kidding. Everyone has his own opinion, and that's fine. I'm still open for duos or full matches anytime you want :)

That said, the claymore is actually a fantastic caster weapon to me. Why? Cause I do not feel that playing a "caster" equals getting more kills with my powers than with my gun. I'm perfectly fine with my powers helping me get gun kills, thank you very much. Very personal opinion of course, but I wonder...

Among you guys who dislike "playing the weapon" instead of the kit... How many played ME1?

Arc pistol on the collector is interesting. Especially if you're not playing the detonator build. I like it with drill rounds but biotics is mandatory warp ammo for me.
