Oh god, not another debate involving claymore.

show me where someone says "DON'T USE THE CLAYMORE!"
Show me where someone says "ONLY USE THE CLAYMORE!".
Stop being dense.

I never said not to.. I just have an opinion about it.
I didn't say you did. My point which may have been unclear admittedly was that there was more hostility (not real hostility mind you) towards playing the weapon, rather than the kit.
Edited for some derpiness.

This is my favorite rendition, "The claymore on the AA is an abomination of the highest sorts." If you are looking for the exact words "DON'T USE THE CLAYMORE!" with all caps included, this guy right here said it:

I'm sure if I looked around long enough I could find some Kislitsin or Redjohn quotes that say that.

Or any thread asking which shotgun to use.
Seriously. People love their boomsticks.

No, no, no, no, no...
It's bad enough that we are talking about the Claymore at all right now, don't bring RedJohn into this.

lol, I'll have to remember next time I make an opinion post that in reality I am telling people what to do, even though in just about any one of these threads I've come our clearly and said people can play the way they wish. The fact that a person runs around using their powers once every 10 seconds or more while wrecking everything with perhaps the most powerful gun in the game is their own business. It just means you may as well just fill up passives and fitness and leave the rest of the powers blank as you run around shotgunning things in the face.

It's posts like these that make me care absolutely nil about using your comment that I quoted as an example.

This. Check your facts, you very intelligent being.Take time to read the thread before making wild accusations.
Most hostility in this thread came from people clearly against using heavy guns on casters, which includes the Claymore.
Arc pistol bypasses shieldgate when charged, even without phasic ammo.
... Once again, check your facts straights before posting utter bullshit.

I'm glad you cleared that up for yourself. It would be an interesting study to at the end of an AA Claymore game to see just how many of the 200,000 points a good player got were Claymore or melee points vs how many were stasis, warp, throw points.

I'm not sure that is a good example because damage taken while inside of Stasis counts towards Stasis as well as the weapon, Warp is a low damage power that can be cheesed with Incendiary ammo to collect an amazing amount of Warp damage, and Throw is still pretty spammable with the Claymore.

What difference does it make? If someone wishes to play that way, that's their prerogative.
Note that I'm an advocate of power spam.

1. Spec passives, 4b and 6a(on some) make wonders.
2. Use power recharge amps
3. L2shoot
4. Scrubs.

Still can't get where the kit players got those 10 sec CD's.

I probably might repent getting back into this discussion this but what if:
1. I don't want to gimp my weapon damage output just to use 3-4 heavy weapons
2. Justicar, smashdept, collector adept benefit quite a bit from power amps - power recharge amp is a waste of gear. And I want my cyclonics for platinum.
3. Claymore, wraith, talon, paladin all take nearly equal amounts of skill.

Well, there's lore, and then there's lore-specific damage bonuses, which are more convincing.
True, although I don't really care that much about those. The only geth weapon I use on GI is the Javelin, for instance. And it isn't like the insect's racial bonus turns the CSMG into a Hurricane or anything.

So now I can't shoot? Interesting.. I always thought I was a good shot in games, with real guns, spearguns, bows, etc. Guess all those dead animals and enemies were figments of my imagination.Still can't get where the kit players got those 10 sec CD's.

I do agree that 4b and 6a passives can do sweet things to builds (got a Novaguard like that who gets 174% recharge speed with an ULM/HCB Reegar lolololololol).. but power efficiency mods are complete garbage IMO. Adrenaline, Power Amp or Cyclonic are the only things that ever go in those slots.. and very rarely, shield power cells.

To think this all started with a joke based off of the Claymore's sound being better than the Arc Pistol.

And, ya, claymore sounds way better than arc. I don't think anyone disagreed with that in the first place.

Nah.. the "play the kit vs play the gun" argument is at least 6 months old. Of course the Claymore sounds better than the Arc.. the Arc does sound cool though, but not that 'I'm carrying a howitzer, BOOM headshot!' kind of cool..

If by showing them the light you mean demonstrating the gimped Havoc before the Havoc was even conceptualized then yes.. I agree
