I'm a bit knew to the whole Cullen thing. Is he the new Alistair or something? I always thought he was just a templar dork

New Alistair? Hmm.. like one of fan favorites that makes fans swoon and romance crap out of him?

I don't think so, people seem to have really different views of him. There is lot of people who love him, lot of people who hate him and lot of people who are indifferent. I like him so he's good character in my opinion and I will romance crap out of him, but since it seems like he's NPC and high amount of people dislike his character or the fact that he's templar I doubt he'll become most popular character or most loved one etc.

It was obvious to me it was a joke.  That said, however, that doesn't mean it was a joke in good taste.  Threatening violence against someone because they might steal your bang bait is something to be avoided.  It would matter to me if it was a Cullen fan, an Iron Bull fan, a Tainty McGrizzleBeardTaint fan, that kind of joke is always going to be in poor/bad taste and called out as being such.

I'm honestly not sure that crosses the 'In Poor taste' line since we are talking about fictional characters in a video game. Now if we were discussing real live people I might consider it in poor taste but as it stands I feel the poster is one the right side of the line.

Since you are running an organization with a lot of members (Soldiers, cooks, merchants, etc) I figure some of them have to be married and it occurs to me that it might add a little 'flavor' to the campaign if that were to come up. Nothing major, just things like a grieving widow crying over the grave of an Inquisition Soldier you left to die, or conversely that same person could thank you for saving her beloved, especially if you have a rep for protecting all your people. Another time you might head out to the training yard and see young girls and boys too young to fight but practicing sword play with their mothers and fathers watching over them. You could find Viv and Solas talking with young mages in between mission, teaching them to master themselves before showing them how to master their powers. Perhaps find Varric regaling the children with grand tales, that kind of thing.

Oh, I would love to see some life in our strongholds :)

Crying widows and widowers though - that would be heartbreaking. But, considering that something like that was in that fan voice acting contest, I suspect we will be seeing it a lot. This is, after all, a world torn apart by all possible wars.

I could see Beardy Warden maybe having been married before.  Not married now, though.

With Mass effect none of the main character are currently married. Only npc's. The only married guy I can think of is that guy talking to that woman about his baby daughter in the barracks in ME2.

That's because the Normandy is Shepard's pimp ship. It's no place for married people.

I'd guess the Warden, since he looks like he might be around Duncan or Riordan's age.

One of my Hawkes romanced Fenris and I thought it was a good relationship (Hawke was helpful/diplomatic, and only rivalmanced him because she honestly believed his anger was harmful to him)
In my other playthroughs, Fenris and Isabela hooking up didn't bother me at all. I liked that touch, honestly, and I wouldn't mind seeing something like that again in Inquisition. It's one thing for a love interest to actively betray you while in a romance (like Jacob) and something else entirely for them to find comfort and companionship with one of the other people they travel and work closely with when the player is not offering it.
At the risk of being murdered in my sleep... I'll go so far as to say that I'd like to see Cassandra and Regalyan and Varric and Bianca reunite in Inquisition - but rekindling a romance should only be possible if the Inquisitor hasn't called dibs yet. Perhaps it could work like Aveline's courtship quest, and if the player so desires, they can change their mind at some point during the quest and confess their feelings to Cassandra/Varric, who will be surprised, but happily reciprocate and let Regalyan/Bianca down easy while preserving their friendship.

In Fable 3, the hero's girlfriend/boyfriend either dies (by your order, albiet coerced) or you have to be a jerk and steal them away from a nice guy/girl they met after being separated from you.
If that were to happen in real life I would probably swallow my feelings, put on a smile and wish my beloved a long and happy life with their new love, because I am a wimp. In a video game, though? I steal Elliot back every time! And I'm not a fan of how that's considered "evil," either. Pursuing your own happiness isn't wrong.

I would love to see a married couple as a pair of companions in a DA game.  Like Jaheira and Khalid.  I think that it could be really interesting to see two people who have a stronger bond with each other than either do with the protagonist.  Plus, if they were to have slightly different views on situations, it could make for some very interesting dialogue and banter.

I just don't want it to follow completely in the BG approach where Khalid is killed off at the beginning of the second game and then Jaheira becomes the Typhoid Mary of Carth Syndrome.  Blah.

Fable broke my heart with their gender dependent starting LIs. I kill Elise every time just out of spite that she isn't Elliot.

We already had this (most likely twice) with the same companion: Aveline.

The only two companions I wouldn't mind being married are Cole (lmao) and Solas.  Both of which wouldn't happen anyway.

A married or otherwise involved companion or two would be a nice touch. Not everyone is a romance character, so I'd like to see the occasional reason for that beyond it never coming up in conversation. "I have a wife/husband at home" or "I'm betrothed" is simple enough.

And then it could get fun if either of that is true but they're still willing to have a fling. Ah, conflict...

It really sucks, because they're so much better designed than all the regular NPCs you can marry. Elliot is adorable. The only other attractive male build in the whole game is Reaver, imo, and he's just a huge cocktease. Most all the women seem way more generic than Elise, too, but I'm less aware of the situation there.

He creeped on the female mage wardens in DA:O, and he's had a following since. It's really YMMV, I suppose, but if I had pepper spray on my person at that point he'd be huddled in a corner crying.

I'd really love to experience a married couple as companions. There's plenty of companions who aren't LIs, so I think it'd be awesome if two of them were adventuring together!

I was so mad they killed off Khalid, then I was super double extra mad I could be her rebound. Just creeped me out all around.

Yes.  I was super mad too.  Plus, they killed off Dynaheir, who was one of my favorite companions from the first game.  Come to think of it:  a black woman who is a saucy, haughty, pompous mage?  Maybe that's why I like Vivienne so much!

I would be thrilled to have a married couple as companions, or at least a couple that comes with preexisting long-term committed relationship.  There is a wide range of drama and humor and worthwhile content that can spring from a married couple.  If they have differing views on the moral choices the protagonist makes, or simply showing a married that is humorous and positive -- and gives lots of high-fives to each other on making snarky jokes (think Lilly and Marshal on How I Met Your Mother).  ;P

I still am bitter about it.  And creeped out.  Ten+ years later.

Awww, Alistair's not creepy, he's cuddly.

What about Shale? She could have been married. She could've had kids for all the poor dear knows.

I would be ok with this as long as B-Ware doesnt Aveline me again that ruined DA2 for me I thought the dynamic between Hawke/Aveline was perfect and in my opinion if anyone should have married Aveline it should have been Hawke not that loser Donnic

Now I refuse to do the quest and in my HC all of my Hawkes and Aveline secretly get married.

But why just Companions/NPCs how about letting the Inquisitor get married as well to either Compaions/NPCs.

My Dream Pairing

William Trevelyan & Bethany Hawke
