It's irrelevant if the character you are romancing is your sister? Okay, whatever floats your boat, I guess........

Bethany is dead in a lot of people's games, so I think it would be better if they didn't write an LI plot just for her. I'd rather they avoided making people that could die in past games LIs. That really messed things up for people in ME.

Agreed. I really wish that they would not use people who could be dead as LI's. It led to Zombie Anders in DA 2 as well as people with zero romances in ME 3.
Id take it the incest is strong with that one?
No, but it could be, if I had the right sister. Love is love.

Not for me, but as long as it's consensual and between two adults, go for it. Cersei and Jamie would be pleased......

Well, if she isn't dead, she's got the taint from being a GW (if the circle didn't grab her). So she kind of has a death warrant anyway. But the same can be said of Alistair. Which makes his words after becoming King odd, "I'm sorry, love. But I need to provide an heir." I kept thinking on the fact that the kid would have the taint and only live for like 20 years.

The children of warden aren't born with the taint.
I don't really care about incest. It's just another social norm for arbitrary ickiness. Sure, it's not well advised to breed, but it's not like we go around policing anyone else's genetics before letting them do the humpity-bumpity. It doesn't seem like something a video game would likely include, though. Especially with someone like Bethany that was so impressionable that I'd be pressed to say whether she'd even be consenting in the scenario. She agreed with literally everything Hawke said and did to extremes. She basically hero worshipped him/her. It would be a little questionable, imo.

She doesn't have to join the wardens. She could join the circle if you didn't take her into the deep roads.
Edit -- I see you said that. Nevermind. lol

Just to clarify, I absolutely wouldn't be cool with them adding in an incestual relationship as an LI. But I do tend to agree with you about it being a societal norm created pretty much for breeding purposes.

That's almost like self-aware homophones. They understand people are different and are what they are, but they are not cool with it.

That's not necessarily true. The only reason no wardens died after killing the big bad dragon was because (if you brought her or if Allistar/Warden slept with her), the soul of the dragon went to the tainted blood baby in Morrigan's belly. Since the "specifics" of the ritual were never delved into, you could make the argument to the counter. But I think that the taint can be passed on naturally. Happens a lot with blood diseases.
David Gaider said in interview once that warden children don't have the taint.
Edit -- I thought it was the same interview where he said phylacteries are blood magic, but looks like it was a forum post. Unless he said it both times.

Are you calling me a homophone? How DARE you.....!?! ![]()

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Didn't know that.
Changing the topic a bit from the siblings, I kind of wish Athenril could have been a LI. I found her interesting, though only in those few brief encounters. And hey, she wasn't a crazy blood mage. I could have seen my Hawke marrying her... if he could have married an elf. Hmm, can elves even marry outside their race?

Children from before or after the Joining? Besides, the taint reduces a Warden's... umm... let's say fertility. A Warden and a non-Warden would have enough problems trying to conceive a child, and it would be almost impossible for two Wardens to have a child.
Then again, if a child was born with the taint, would their bodies adapt to it? It would be interesting if they did because they'd be immune to the taint, and they wouldn't have the shortened lifespan and decreased fertility that the Wardens have. Maybe the increased appetite, but that's not a given. No need to answer, I'm just thinking out loud. Hmm...

He said that wardens can have children with a non-warden. Two wardens can't make a baby, one warden/one not can make a baby. The baby will be born clear of the taint, apparently.

I think they can, yes, though it is obviously rare due to how humans view elves as being inferior. Dwarf/human pairings are even rarer and qunari/non-qunari pairings are almost non-existent.
Hmm... Now that I think about it, what would a qunari/human marriage be like? ![]()
