Qunari don't believe in marriage, even with each other. They just have breeding programs. I'm not sure how common it is for Tal-Vashoth/Vashoth to marry outside the Qun. I'm given to believe it almost never to never happens.

As it turns out, certain aspects of the taint were actually just made up to keep their members from getting too intimate with each other.

I think they can, yes, though it is obviously rare due to how humans view elves as being inferior. Dwarf/human pairings are even rarer and qunari/non-qunari pairings are almost non-existent.
Hmm... Now that I think about it, what would a qunari/human marriage be like?
Well, if its male qunari and female human, I would imagine the marriage would involve a heated iron pry bar. And if you don't get the joke, click.

That's a great way for Sten to ward off unwanted advances. (let's see how many of you know what I'm talking about.

Athenril was a interesting character I would have romanced/married her in DA2 but sadly she wasnt an option in truth I would have taken her over Merrill all day any day period.
And what about Elegant I thought B-ware was hinting at something between her and Hawke but alas it was not to be either.
My Dragon Age Inquistion Npc Dream List:
1.Bethany/Carver Hawke
2.Velanna
3.Sigrun
4.Nathaniel Howe
5.Dagna
6.Finn
7.Arienne
8.Sketch
Any Npc romances in DAI will hopefully be as good as Cortez & Traynors romances in ME3.
Off topic I guess:
Also I have a love/hate relationship with the Fable franchise because they dont have any unique marriage options minus Lady Grey/Elise/Elliot I wanted to marry Whisper & Page but no can do thanks LHS really thanks

Bethany is dead in a lot of people's games, so I think it would be better if they didn't write an LI plot just for her. I'd rather they avoided making people that could die in past games LIs. That really messed things up for people in ME.
On the other hand, I've always loved the idea about expanding both her and Carver.
They are both fairly different characters compared and it would be interesting to get to know them but not as their dominant sibling.
And it's one of the only actual choices with a difference in outcome from the second game.
Plus, extra replayability. With Beth, With Carv, or with neither.

To be honest, I think bringing Bethany and Carver back would just be too much work. One of them is always dead, both of them could be dead, if they do live, there are multiple paths they can take. It just seems like a lot of resources spent covering all the possible paths. Maybe if they just picked one and only included them if you chose that specific path for the character, but it wouldn't really work as a companion or LI, imo. Maybe as a quest giver NPC, or something of a side character.

Well, to be fair, they did it with Kaidan and Ashley. I agree that it's alot of work and I also suspect that it's one of the reasons that there are only 6 squadmates in ME 3 (not counting Javik, obv). Kaidan and Ashley kind of counted like two.

Yeah, just like Ashley and Kaidan are dead in a lot of people's games, yet they can be romanced in ME3. It's simple, if Bethany is dead, she won't be available as an LI. If she is alive, she's a possible LI. By late game in ME3, you have had two chances to kill off Kaidan and Ashley, allowing the possibility of them both being killed off. Both of them are romanceable in ME3, but if they are dead, you simply have less LI's to choose from.

Kaidan and Ashley could die, but they didn't have to work around two whole different backgrounds for each one. They'd have to write a path for each to be a grey warden and then one for Bethany to join the circle and one for Carver to be a templar. Which, if they were companions, I can't see not really effecting their entire involvement with the plot and their acquisition.

Yeah, but both Kaidan AND Ashley can't be dead until later in the game. That would be two whole companions that they have to design knowing that one would definitely be dead beforehand and the other is probably dead.

True. I didn't think of the fact that Kaidan and Ashley basically share a storyline from ME 2 onwards.

Carver is a simple fix. If he is a Templar, he's probably busy fighting with the Order. If he is a Grey Warden, he'd share the same type of story line as Bethany if she was a Grey Warden. Odds are, if Bethany/Carver is a Warden, they wouldn't show up all that often, or maybe not at all. If Bethany went to the Circle, she could appear more often, as could Carver if he was a Templar. They'd simply have different dialogues and situations.

They could both be dead by the time you talk to them about coming back to the Normandy. Even if one of them is alive, if you treated them poorly, they probably won't want to come back to the Normandy anyway unless you convince them. So there is a higher chance that neither of them will be available for the entire game after the prologue. Besides, BW went the easy route and had basically the same dialogue for both of them in most of their scenes. If they do bring back Bethany or Carver, they'd probably do the same thing again.

Aveline was married...twice actually. But yes, I agree some should be married but should be if the player doesn't romance them or just a companion that isn't a possible LI.

I think if Cullen wound up romancing anyone besides the Quizzy, it would be Cassandra, but you know, maybe not.
I just like the idea of a companion having someone more important than you in their life who you don't set them up with, or influence their relationship with, or anything. They are together when you meet them and they stay together long after your playthrough ends.

It'd be interesting to have two companions who were married to each other (it would make sense, maybe one wanted to join you, and the other joins because they don't want to leave their beloved)
Then again people would probably just want to romance them
