One of my favorite characters from Dragon Age 2 was Tallis, the Elven Ben-Hassrath. I found her witty and charming and while I was a bit annoyed about being lied and manipulated (again) I genuinely liked her as a character, not only for her personality but for giving us more information about the Qunari. What I would like to know is will she have an appearance of influence in Inquisition? In my opinion I found her bit like a Qunari version of Leliana. Both of them are spies for their respective religions and have very colorful pasts. They even have met one another as revealed when you talk to Leliana in Chateau Haine. Leliana will be acting as the leader of espionage and other subtle aspects of the Inquisition, so will we perhaps encounter Tallis again? And if so will she be an ally or an enemy? Your thoughts and comments are appreciated, my apologies to anyone who has started a similar topic.

P.S. While I am aware that the events in Mark of the Assassin are a DLC, but I feel they may have some repercussions in Inquisition. After all it isn't everyday you kill an Orleasin Duke who is friends with the Empress.

As much as I like her character in DA2, I know for a fact that my qunari worrier will not tolerate her because she is a qunari spy and would not want to chance more info going to the qunari invaders. Talis may lose her life if she meets my inquisitor.

As much as I would like to see Tallis again I don't think she's gonna be in DAI.

I couldn't stand Tallis. If she ever came back, I only hope I can kill her. Possibly slowly and painfully.

I already have a DLC where she made Hawke seem a total idiot. No way she came back and do the same to my Inquisitor "because writers love her".

How on earth does it seem that the writers love her when they make it so everyone of you companions thinks and say she is wrong?

because in the DLC she is always, always, the best, the strongest, the most intelligent, the funniest, the one with the greatest idea, etcetera. There is never a moment where she is in danger, or made something wrong, or really let Hawke and her companion do something relevant. I think the part in the prison is the worst ever.

The only thing I could think finishing the DLC was: why did she needed Hawke in the end?

all the DLC was about her, and only her. It wasn't about Hawke helping her, but about her doing her mission taking the dead weight Hawke with her.

Not really. She get's you jailed. You can easily out class her in power. And her only advantages is that she can work at a distance and has anti magic abilities.  Sorry but I does see any favoritism here. The dlc was just about an alternative view on the qunari. It was not her  who kill the wryvien. You ignored Aveline's and Isabella's story lines in the dlc. And your complaining about her being funny in the dlc? All the companions are funny in the entire game, plus she is only shown in on dlc which means the have no choice but she the most of her in that dlc. It would be like saying Kasmui in me2 dlc is a writer favorite because she had an exclusive dlc of her being more charismatic then Shepard.

So....Is Miranda a writer favorite because she is modeled after her voice actor?

It's because Felicia Day played Tallis in the live action series Redemption...it wouldn't have made sense if she had a different face. It's not because of any favouritism or anything silly like that.

Miranda wasn't a DLC character and she didn't look drastically different from other human females. They also didn't retcon lore for her. There were tons of inconsistencies just so she could exist. A lot of people would call that favoritism.

It doesn't matttttttttttter, it's still favoritism lmao. They could've made her a red headed elf.

I don't mind the favoritism. I just don't understand. Still trying to figure out what the writers like about the Qunari. It's a whole society that designates strict roles to people. This is good? Isn't David Gaider gay? Doesn't he deal with realistic versions of this already? I do not understand it.

Unless it's a joke. Like those Jewish comedians, like Charlie Chaplin, would dress up as Hitler or in SS uniforms and mock them. Maybe it's supposed to be ironic like that.

No thanks. She was a borderline sue. It also doesn't help that the pc regardless of their disposition to the Qun was forced to watch as she made off with the spy list, and with barely any resistance too.

those are combact mechanisms, and have very little to do with the storyline. Have we actually a chance to try to kill her, or at least really figh her? I'm sure if there was a fight, it would happen like with Kai Lang on Thessia: cinematic save her before Hawke can kill her.

I never taken with me Isabela and Aveline for this DLC. I can say Varric and Anders where totally unuseful.

Miranda is one of my least liked character in ME, but she have her moments where she was wrong, or have some weakness. or at least Shepard can tell her to f.... off (see Jack VS Miranda.) and Shep can give her orders. More than once Shep can make her remember she is not the boss. Shepard is.

and by the way, Liara is already the most favourite, no one see Miranda's favouritsm. Just her backside.

They didn't retcon any lore! She is NOT a warrior in the eyes of the Qun. Tallis is Ben Hassrath.

1. They did not recon the lore for her.

2. It matters not that she is a dlc character and look like her vo. Anyone can see it was done just to market the dlc.

That's not favoritism. Seriously, if they spend time just having companions tell her how wrong she is that it's clearly not. Added, the fact is common for characters exclusive to a dlc to be shown alot and make comments alot in the dlc they come in is common. You're point would be like saying Aria, Kasumi, Shale, and Zaeed are writer favorites because they have heavily a part of the dlc's they come in.

That makes no sense

What the hell does a specific writer's sexuality has to do with anything? The writers of Dragon Age like the Qunari because they are unique aspects of the lore. EVERYTHING else in the lore has parallels in other popular fantasy, but the Qunari are unique.

Seriously, what did she retcon? She is allowed to fight yes, but all women are trained as well to defend themselves. It's just that they aren't allowed to fight as a warrior officially.

Wait.. What lore did they "retcon" for the sake of Talis? Nothing particular springs to mind when I think about it.
