I've noticed that most of the die-hard Tallis defenders seem to be Felicia Day fans more than anything else. They need to realise that people not liking the character is NOT an attack on Felicia Day.

Imo the character of Tallis doesn't make sense and is dangerously close to slipping into Mary Sue territory.

I'm not a Felicia Day fan at all. My argument is just to clearify the motivations and actions of a miss understood character people hate just because for same thing other dlc characters do.

She seemed more like a generally unlikeable and smug ******* than a mary sue. The plot railroading certainly didn't help.

Can you say the same thing about Witty Hawk?

*Points to Liliana.

You really don't think he won't do it.

I don't think anyone doubts that, but it would indeed be VERY childish and spiteful if people not liking or wanting to see the character again was a primary reason for her inclusion.

That hardly changes how immature and unprofessional it is, and unlike Tallis, Leliana has much more of a reason and plot to be in the continuing franchise. It makes much more sense. Please. Besides, I'm hardly convinced that was the only reason for her being in not only Dragon Age 2/Inquisition, but Asunder and TME.

Unlikeable? No. Usually no. Smug *******? Sure.

That's kind of the point of humorous/witty Hawke, though. Now, if his/her goal was to make a controversial religion look more appealing, then that approach certainly wouldn't work.

While I don't support the inclusion of Tallis, from a writer's perspective it can be viewed as a challenge. "How can we [the developers] make the fan base like this character?"

But it's probably more about spite than anything else.

She only turns smug if you try to take the list.

And Her goal was to show how a convert see the qun. An angle out side of just the people born into it.

One good reason I see for Tallis is.... maybe the whole Order/Control side needed more adherents. The number of people who support mages and civil liberties in general is probably lopsided. They need more people who will support other things - people who want to suppress and control - else it's not worth writing about. So maybe Tallis was a step in that direction.

I could get behind that. Whilst I have my problems with the character, I wouldn't mind her appearing again if it was relevent to the story being told, and if she felt more like an actual character rather than something out of a fanfic.

If they included her out of spite though, I wouldn't be ok with that at all.

(MAYBE?) SPOILER: Qunari Inquisitor is Tallis's step-brother/sister

It's possible we will encounter her again, maybe during the Orlesian Civil War,depends how much the Qunari are involved in it.

We only know that liliana had a reason to be in the plot when DAI was announced. In DA2, any bard could replace her. And more of a case of you just not liking Tallis then bw trying to spite you.

No bard could replace her in DA2. I think they had already set up her role in her DLC (or even before). She was already allying with the Divine way back then (when Justinia was just a Rev Mother). By the time she becomes Divine, Leliana is made her Left Hand. That's not the role of a mere bard. Her role in DA2 is someone connected to the highest levels of the Chantry.

If she happens to be in DAI, I would like to know the relationship between her and Leliana since both seemed uncomfortable when they met in the Assassin dlc.

No that dlc did not. She was not working for the divine in dao. She left the bard world . That dlc comfermed that.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
no!!!! that's not the case

David Gaider wanting to troll fans by putting her in DA:I IS trying to spite me and the others, it has nothing to do with my hate for her oh my gOD

and again no! if they wanted her to be the hand of the divine in the novels/da:i then they could not "replace her with any bard" in da2 jesus

clearly

First of all Lilana did not become a hand of a divine until DA2. Before that she left the bard life. She suddenly became a bard with no previous indication in the plot.

Seriously, She could be replace by any bard.

One person was calling the devs immature and unprofessional just for including a character they may not like in the next game.

That's because Justinia hadn't taken office yet. But she's the Reverend Mother in Leliana's Song. Dorothea.

They've been setting up this story before DA2.

No, I'm not. You are referring to Liliana's song. That dlc is about why she left the bard life behind, not how she became the hand of the divine. That dlc never established she became a hand of the divine. It was not stated she became a hand until DA2. They put her into a role that to established her importance, it was not that she was important for the plot before.
