in her webseries. There's this elf dude who tells her he's a healer. She proceeds to shove a dagger close to his heart. Turns out he was a healer indeed. What a lucky guy.

You could always skip said cutscene if you hate it so much. Seriously, it's not that hard.

And this is Thedas. Dragons and magic and broodmothers you can handle but not acrobatic jumping?

Humans are still humans in da universe not Z fighters from dragon ball... best example how she ignores laws in universe we have here and yes she is normal human not mage...

Just like how Hawke can backflip 10 feet into the air and shatter a glass vial with his foot?

Where you have that?

It's the standard animation that plays whenever you throw a flask of combustion or whatever at an enemy.

eee what part gameplay where you can take 20 hits with 2 h sword and still will be able to fight you don't get it? Cutscenes = story

I feel like people must not have played this game if they really think that jump is so ridiculous. Gameplay story segregation only goes so far...

But we're talking about cutscenes not gameplay.

What about that cutscene where Hawke launches himself 10 feet into the air like a cannon to kill that ancient rock wraith in the deep roads? It's at about 8:40 in this link

It's not restricted to Tallis by any means.

But we're talking about cutscenes not gameplay.

Maybe you have a higher tolerance for rationalizing away gameplay... that's all part of the game's aesthetic to me, it doesn't go away just because 'storymode' occurs. The characters are exaggerated beyond anything that could be called 'human'.

If we're scrutinizing every individual action made by a character I could say Silk Fox in Jade Empire has just as ridiculous of a jump in a cutscene, even though the gameplay in that game is much more subdued than in DA2, despite all the negative associations with wuxia you might want to throw out to rationalize that one...

It's just standard if a little cliche for rogues to be super acrobatic, inhumanly so in a game with inhumanly capable heroes.

I think we might be getting of topic here, before this deteriorates into a debate on the reality or feasibility of acrobatics, what I wonder is will the events of MOTA and your interactions with Tallis have any impact on her if you encounter her again in Inquisition.

LoL that wasn't beyond human capabilities just compare size of wraith to jump hawke did if all we can argue wether he should be able do that in that armor not jump itself.

David Gaider loves Felicia Day so much. He even threatens to include Tallis in Inquisition just to spite her critics.

How is trying to get more people to buy the game a form of character favoritism?

Right there should say it all. They probably basically assumed the fans would be like: "look it's felicia day as an elf! let's buy this", I mean???? 1+1=2????? si o no?

How is it favouritism just because Tallis looks like her VA who played her in the live action series? Please do explain.

They changed the physical appearance of an entire race lmao are you serious what further proof do you need?!

What? Merrill and Fenris look nothing like the rest of the DA2 elves. Why aren't you complaining about them?

They also look nothing like their VA, but Merrill does resemble the other Elves so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Urgh! that would probaly kill my exitement for DAI.

But if done right a return can be...good  (insert sadistic laught)

1) killable Tallis

2) character rewritten, with actual flaws and coerence.

3) I would feel great if Inquisitor and companions beat her in everything

Uh no. Merrill lacks the hard nasal bridge and grey skintone that every random elf who doesn't play a major role has.

Also, people can look different from one another! Shocking, isn't it?

And what exactly is wrong with someone looking like their VA, especially if that VA played that character in the live action series which is canon?

She shouldn't be a Mary Sue, that's for sure.

Yeah, I disliked the character. Dialogue felt railroaded, no option to really dissent, no option to take the list, no option to keep the duke alive if you really disliked the qunari.
I liked the dlc, quite a bit, but it just seemed like there was a lack of player agency involved everytime you talked to Tallis. Could give less fu*ks about the her face/Felicia day's face ratio, but the character was kinda grating.

Tallis is a self-insert which is creepy. It's like bad fanfiction where someone from the present gets magically teleported in the amazing world of Dragon Age and get to be all awesome.

They look pretty similar to me. (Tash I used your Dalish screencap!!! I hope you don't mind!! <3 )

Anyway, I'm not going to continue debating this because OP has already made it clear we're derailing, if someone wants to make a thread or PM me, be my guest.

As for the original question at hand, since I've never answered that, I do not think we'll see her in DA:I and I hope we don't as well. If we do, I'd like the chance to dismiss her or opt out of that quest.
