Tallis not only looks and has the voice of FD, she has her same personality. It's like she can't act anything else that isn't her.

These discussions never end up going anywhere except around in circles.

People will complain if: main character is super powerful, athletic, skilled in all areas, and charismatic (regardless of job class) as being boring and overpowered and an unbelievable protagonist.

They will also complain if: Secondary/DLC character who has the same talents as the above but has an assigned job class that calls for these types of skills as being a mary-sue/god-sue/super-sue/goku-sue/sue von susanburg.

I mean seriously people will look for problems where there are none or make complaints that make no sense, like people complaining that she's the star of the DLC...um well that's because she kind of is...I don't know what you were expecting maybe a brief introduction in High-Town along with a 5 minute info dump never to be seen again? I think the same ones bickering about not being able to one up Tallis would be even more frustrated to have seemingly taken a tip from a rogue elf, traveled to the Chateau, killed the Wyvern and the Duke AND retrieved the item only to have her swoop in at the last minute from out of nowhere -- at least in the actual game you can somewhat see it coming and shouldn't be too surprised when she "oops I lied" to you.

Well isn't the point of the forum to bicker till someone posts a constructive post and then bicker some more? If it wasn't the case then every thread that asked for a certain something to be in the sequel, would have answers like "Hell yes!" and "Hell no!". People generally like to give an explanation why they like or dislike something ;p

The fact that it all happens by ctuscene, and that the floor collapses instead of like - in ME2 - just turning into a boss battle where you kill the gunship on foot is plot armour. It's not a result of gameplay that you loose - all the outcomes are controlled by the writers  in situations where we've succeeded in the past with no obvious explanation as to why we can't succeed now.

That really does not matter. The only issue is if it came from no where at all. You could say Garrus has plot armor as well for the same point when he was recruited.  Sorry, but unless it has no reasoning for the character to be save for the scene it's not  plot armor.

That is what I was talkinga bout. It is physically possible for humans to jump their own height, just not the way Hawke jumped. But this isn't really a problem at all, since it is a game which is meant to be cool, and for as long as it looked cool it is fine.

Well it wasn't so far from truth well we rarely have 100 % realistic games however they keep close to that so what hawke did wasn't very far fetched pretty much like leap of faith in AC what would pretty much kill person or badly damage them in certain moments despite technique our protagonist helps.   however jumping over 3-4 times of your height standing and backward is ourtight ridiculous.

The only good quality Tallis has is that she is a daredevil. I think she is inconsistent and flawed to the point where she makes no sense. I don't even understand why the Qunari would tolerate her. I think the writers were forced to write her like that.

You don't notice that she clearly acts differently when she is talking to qunari.

Surprisingly, that works. Advertising is about grabbing attention. It did do that. You can't argue ageist that.

Nobody gives a **** about Tallis except her several die hard fans. They even consider Day a "celebrity", not that I expect a rational behavior from fans.

I'm guessing the Qunari will invade in DA4, striking first while other countries are still recovering from the Veil Tear, demons and the mage-Templar war.

If we had choices that would have had different outcomes then she'd have a good reason to reaper in DAI, other than "Hey, remember me? I'm Miss Fanservice."

I don't think she will be in DA:I for reasons already mentioned. I have no personal beef with Tallis or Felicia Day, I'm only familiar with the latter through Buffy Season 7 so I could hardly consider myself a "diehard fan". I had no qualms or issues with Tallis' introduction or her moves, what I didn't like was what the majority on here have already stated, the dumbing down of Hawke, which thinking back it wasn't so much dumbing down as it was a lack of the ability to question her; "no objections", "no questions asked", "just do it", etc. I don't believe any of the cries of favoritism, I think if Bioware had really been so in-lust with her character they could have made her permanent companion like Sebastian and revolved even more quests around Tallis' vaunted opinions and pearl drops of wisdom...they could have installed a patch where she was a mandatory party member during the ACT 2 finale.

I didn't like the character. Being stuck with her the whole DLC really colored it negatively, for me. I also was disappointed that I couldn't do more to work against her. The game forced me to help her succeed when that was the opposite of what I wanted. I would be happy if the games just never spoke of her again. I don't even take a strong dislike to characters often, she's really the only one I've felt this way about.

Response to this. "I think she is inconsistent and flawed to the point where she makes no sense. I don't even understand why the Qunari would tolerate her. "

Added your forgetting that Last Qunari that was a companion said that all mages were dangerous and uncontrollable but he himself in the past went on a rampage and kill an entire family.

Tallis is too conflicted and chaotic to be a qunari. She'd have been brainwashed several times to be a proper follower of the Qun. But I guess everyone around her gets sucked in that black hole to notice that.

You miss the entire concept of her character. Her entire belief is that she want to find a middle ground with the Qun and her culture. She an example of how people who are out side of the qun and integrated into it look at the qun. She understand how the qunari think and how the rest of thedus thinks and is trying to find a middle ground that does not have both sides clashing.

Neah, she kept trying to convince you how everyone else has it better when embracing the Qun, else she wouldn't be preaching it.

There is a difference between Sten and Tallis. Sten lost his sword. That means he is literally dead to the Qun and his people. He surrendered himself shortly after to die according to the Qun and took an extraordinary event to get him back to action. Tallis is just too kind and generous and awesome to do the wrong thing by not-Qunari standards. There is not a single moment in MotA that she acts according to the Qun. She does literally whatever she feels like. She treats bas as her equals, she goes against the wishes of Ariqun.

So she is literally NOT QUNARI. You can't be Qunari and something else as well. She is an insult to Qun cause she believes that it is flawed. What she is, is "Superawesome and smart and funny and different and unique". Sounds to me like those dumb hot girls that put glasses on and say "Wow im such a nerd, look at how nerd I am".

Ok I admit I lost it a bit. But I'm not wrong. I just think that this character isn't worthy of mentioning ever again in this game. I liked MotA for the culture and the puzzles and even the stealth part although it was pretty lame. But I really dislike what Tallis stands for.

No thank you. Nothing personal against Felicia Day. I'm sure she's cool people. I'd rather the time, money, and resources that could potentially be spent on Tallis go towards something that doesn't essentially amount into Felicia Day's fan-fiction.
