The Archdemon gives me nightmares, but I hear that's 'working as intended' for being a Grey Warden.

Personally though, I found both equally disturbing. BioWare should make horror games lol
You mean the end of the Ostagar arc in DA:O DIDN'T have horror game overtones?

None. For I am a Grey Warden and I do not fear petty Darkspawn.

Yes! Because they jump on you and noisily eat your face...giving you a screen full of fang! There's no gaming horror like it...

Orana!

"A broodmother is a giant sessile ghoul capable of spawning vast numbers of darkspawn in a manner reminiscent of an insect queen."
They're not technically darkspawn, they just...spawn them. But being darkspawn affiliated I think they should be allowed...

While I agree with most about the Mother, broodmother, and children being the most terrifying, I also have a soft spot for how imposing the armored ogres actually were in Awakening. Ogres are already tough enough on their own, nevermind when they're actually wearing armor.
Uhhh none of them?
I'm not 5.
Aww! Are you a big boy now?

There is nothing frightening about the ClownSpawn or DonkeyKongSpawn. Nothing. Unless I had an irrational fear of clowns or chimps...

Clowns and spiders are terrifying, but darkspawn are on a whole other level.
Biower pls. The darkspawn are not on a 'whole other level' from freaking Pennywise.

The darkspawn aren't not even close to scary. The closest to being somewhat creepy is the broodmother and not because of their appearance more how they're created.

Having a fear of clowns is very rational. it been proven by a study, that i just made up, that 90% of clowns are really demons in disguise .

Out of the three listed... I'd say hurlocks. Their creepy grin always unsettles me.
As others have said, however, what about the broodmothers? Or The Children? I literally cried out with horror when one of those disgusting things jumped on my Warden for the first time!

None of the darkspawn are nightmare worthy. In the OP's pic, the ogre and the genlock look goofy. I sort of expect them to start following me around as a side kick making stupid jokes, like in a disney movie. Even the broodmothers, while unappealing, weren't really scary. Their appearacnces were... darkly funny although their backstory is tragic. I'm not complaining. I don't like creepy in my games. DA hits a nice balance for me. The enemies are ugly enough that I know they are enemies while still endearlingly goofy.
