And I've now pre-ordered. Damn that's expensive. I'll be doing weekend work and calling in early xmas money to help pay for it.

I have my fingers crossed that we get the upgrade to deluxe.

They put that up a couple days after the deluxe edition was announced. The Flames of the Inquisition weapon pack, armoured mount and Inquistor Armour are retailer specific pre-order bonus if you pre-order the standard edition instead of the deluxe edition.

Ebgames has the mount and the weapon pack, JB Hi-Fi has the armour. Pre-ordering the deluxe edition at Ebgames gets you all three.

Well that's lame. If you've pre-ordered it you should get all the pre-order bonus's don't split them up. Especially considering that pc can't even get the Deluxe edition.

So, I was just on the EB games website and I noticed that pc Inquisitor's edition now states that it comes with the deluxe edition game instead of the standard.

Still only the standard game available outside of the Inquisitor's edition though.

Notice that on the PC Inquisitors page, they use Red text and explictly state that its Deluxe Edition.
So its a big change - Don't be worried about the pre-order stuff - Origin will probably detect the Deluxe edition and give you all the pre-order content - Physical Deluxe = Digital Deluxe on their system (from memory)...
this appears to be a BIG WIN for Aussie Dragon Age Fans... I highly doubt EB are grey importing this as its sold out worldwide a few times over...I think EA and Bioware have demanded the Inquisitors Edition include the deluxe edition - well thats what it sounds like after I made a few calls confirming this.

He said he would call the office tommorow, lets hope it isnt :)

Ill also double check whether PC Inquisition Preorders before today will get deluxe editions.

That is good news :) I'm glad it seems to be sorted now :) at least for some. I think some people would just the deluxe by itself from retail, but at least those who bought the collectors get what they are paying for I guess :)

Ive got good News!

1. All the previous Preorders will be updated to include the deluxe edition.

2. The Deluxe Edition is from an Australian Distributor and only available via EB Games.

3. All Preorders of more than one copy were cancelled, looks like eb realized what happened over the weekend (all stock were exhausted) and it was due to resellers grabbing all the stock, thats why the stock has lasted for more than a day :)

I sent EB games customer support a message yesterday to confirm that Inquisitor's edition came with a deluxe game and this was the response "It is correct that we have been able to secure the Deluxe Edition content for the PC edition of Dragon Age. This will only be available as part of the Inquisitor's edition of Dragon Age and not as a standalone edition in stores."

Any idea why they won't sell it as a standalone?

What absolute bs. The deluxe edition content should be available with the standalone game without having to fork out over $200 for the inquisitor edition

I guess I'll be buying from overseas then.

If this works out well, let us know how you did it. (Well, eventually.)

I'm more than a bit sick of this issue, but I have never found really good alternatives for importing.

(As a consumer.)

if thats what you want then buy Digital deluxe on Origin, has all of the content including all of the pre-order content... currently JBHIFI has the Inquisiors armour and EB has the rest.

I dunno. This whole distribution thing just got more complicated as far as I'm concerned. I looked up prices for the standard editions on PC in Aus.

EB has it at $90. Origin has it at $80. And the US price is $60.

I'm surprised the Origin price isn't $90. (I still think it should be closer to $60 - and bearing in mind this issue isn't about currency exchange. But still.)

I also just checked The Sims 4 and this now seems to also be the case for The Sims 4, too. Like, $10 less for an Origin purchase.

I honestly haven't noticed this before. Interesting, though.

(Oh, and the Origin price for Digital Deluxe is also $10 cheaper.)

I'm on mobile broadband so my monthly internet quota is very limited otherwise I would go for the digital edition. I guess if the download size isn't too ridiculous it might be an option.

So, I contacted EB games again hoping to get an answer to why Deluxe edition for PC isn't being sold as a standalone and the response? "Unfortunately this is the publisher's decision so I am unable to comment on the exact reasons why, however they have not made it possible for the Deluxe edition to be purchased as a standalone in Australia on the PC. They have advised it will be available digitally but sadly not physically in store."

So basically, Origin exclusive? That was the answer I expected, though I had hoped for something different.
