SPOILERS AHEAD. BE WARNED!

Simple topic: What is your Shepard's personality? How does he react to the world around him? Paragon or Renegade?

Usually my Shepard is a straight boy scout through all 3 games, but in my latest playthrough I've decided to switch things up a bit. In the first game he's still gonna be a straight boy scout. Spacer/War Hero, Alliance poster boy, pure Paragon, work with aliens, etc. In the second however, things get a bit different. He's going to start off the same, with a healthy distrust of Cerberus. But once he finds out about the smear campaign the Alliance and Council pulled on him and his crew, and after he meets with them on the Citadel, he's gonna feel completely alienated and betrayed, and tell them to f*** off. From then on he supports Cerberus in what they're doing as they're the only ones really doing anything to stop the reapers, and is completely on their side, anti-alliance all the way. However, he's still a morally good guy, he's just a little jaded with everything he's been through, and more willing to do whatever it takes to end the war he knows is coming. After Cerberus goes nuts in ME3, he realizes how wrong he was, and from then on he's trying to atone with the Alliance. Basically, I want him to have character development in all 3 games. Kinda going for a MGS Big Boss type of character. What about you guys?

Minor details:

Armor: Onyx Heavy in ME1, N7 Armor in ME2 up until meeting with council, afterward Cerberus Assault Armor for the rest of the game.

Romance: Ashley in ME1, Miranda in ME2, either one in ME3. Haven't decided yet, tough decision.

Alignment: Pure Paragon in ME1, Paragade in ME2 and 3 due to being "hardened" in a sense.

Earthborn

ME1: nice enough guy but hates people wasting his time and thinking he's easily duped. May forgive but doesn't forget. Developed a "thing" for Kaidan during the chase for Saren, but being afraid of rejection he kept it to himself, even when he's gotta explain why he sacrificed Ashley and kept her and needy Liara at arm's length when anyone else would've just got on with it. Kills only if he absolutely has to, and believes all races should be getting along. 65% paragon 35% renegade.

ME2: "you don't just kill me and walk away". He became considerably darker. Turns out getting killed really pissed him off, heh who would've thunk it? He's got even less tolerance for time-wasters, and his negotiating skills have taken a blow after being basically cut loose by the Alliance. He's loyal to noone this time round and leaves a trail of bodies in his wake.

Don't ****** him off because he's more likely to go for the gun or push you out of a 500-story building (Nassana's stupid merc that gave him lip) than take part in a battle of words. Kaidan rejecting him on Horizon made it even worse. Would you poke a wounded lion with a stick? As much as he doesn't trust Cerberus, he doesn't care much about their shady past/present.

He's just using them for their resources. All he wants is revenge. He welcomes the help and company of those that offer it, no matter what planet they're from. He can do more widespread damage that way, especially when sporting a tank-bred Krogan going through puberty. Outside of battle he's still a charming devil and has formed bonds with his new teammates that will last until the end of his days. He identifies best with Jacqueline Naught. 25% paragon, 75% renegade.

ME3: ME1/2 hybrid. He still has that chip on his shoulder but enough time has passed since the events of ME2, which has waned his anger and resentment towards the Alliance and a certain Major. He was proven right all along and now it's crunch time. Leaves old grudges behind more or less, but delights in sticking it to Kaidan at first with snide comments (and later with something else), but eventually he grows tired of the aggravation and lets his old secret flame back into his life, finally out n proud.

Intimate partners and brothers-in-arms.........watch out Reapers. Mellower for the most part, he's learnt to control his rage and puts it to good use, letting it out when the occasion calls for it. Unfortunately for Udina........the occasion called for it. 52% paragon, 48% renegade

Not sure if Scuttlebutt is the right section for a thread like this, but, well...

Elena Shepard

Colonist and Sole Survivor. Infiltrator.

I decided to go with Sole Survivor because Colonist also deals with everyone around Shepard dying and only her escaping.

Mixing Mindoir with Akuze, I decided Shepard would be the kind of person who would value the lives of those she cherished since she went through two experiences where everyone around her died - all her afforts would be to prevent that from ever happening again. She would tend towards order, going for the most peaceful outcome available. At the same time, she would despise deeply people who played with other lives or that saw them as expendable, leading to harsh and violent actions towards them even when not necessary (i.e. whenever she crossed paths with a terrorist, a Cerberus member, "scientists" like Saleon, she would kill them even if other option was presented). Despite that, Shepard is a practical person, the kind that would sacrifice few in order to save many if necessary (as long as the said few were not people close to her, as that is her weak spot).

ME: Mostly Paragon, but with some Renegade decisions due to what was said above (Balak, Saleon, Kyle, the Cerberus scientist on Newton). Placed saving Wrex above anything, had a hard time leaving Ashley to die, allowed the Rachni queen to restore her race (the fact I love insects weighed on this decision...). She was eager to get close to the Normandy crew, even though she is not the most social person around. Kaidan was a big help on that and it was not without guilt she chose to save him in Virmire knowing her personal feelings were in the way.

Since she was not the outgoing kind, she found a closer friend in Wrex than in (the most friendly) Garrus.

Weapons of choice: pistols during almost all the time until she (well, I) found out how freaking amazing sniper rifles are. Too bad it was almost at the end of the game.

Armor: Medium Colossus. Love its colors.

ME2: After everything and with Akuze on her background, working with Cerberus was something that bothered her all the way. Whenever someone pointed out the fact she was working with them, that would hit her deeply.

Maybe (?) because she was suffering from having to do something in a way she hated, it was very easy for her to relate with Thane. At first she couldn't understand how he could push any responsability aside when she couldn't ignore the pain of having to work with Cerberus, but that worked out in a way to make them as close as possible. Thane's impending death was a shadow that would haunt her, though, as Shepard still had many scars from losing people close to her.

With Wrex away, Joker was the only friend from old times she had with her from the start and that led to a very close and intimate friendship - not that any of them would admit it, obviously.

Mordin fascinated her as if she met a grandfather with views completely different from hers. Even though that led to many conflicts in their talks, they actually became close friends in no time. Legion and Jack were other new members with which she had a especial connection, relating to their stories and always having them under her wings. Because of that, she ended up losing Miranda's loyalty when they were starting to get close. Hopefully, things went better with Tali.

Kept the Paragon disposition with not many Renegade choices, so her scars fade away naturally.

Armor: N7 with some modifications. As evident by her bleached hair, she likes yellow/golden tones, so her armor pieces were always dyed in those colors.

ME3: After bonding so much with her crew and almost having to kill it on a suicide mission for the bigger good (hopefully everyone survived), Shepard was starting to grow a bit arrogant. She felt like she was risking everything she cared for for the good of a galaxy that, putting simply, complained too much. Renegade choices became much more common, as a "Shut up and let me do my job" aptitude started to arise.

Kaidan coming back from the past wasn't something she was expecting, but after everything that happened with Thane she couldn't see Kaidan as more than a friend now.

Her friends help was very important soothing the stress she was going through, mainly after Mordin's death. Thane's death, however, was more than she could handle. Shepard went through a difficult period after that and that was evident in her behavior (killing a sick batarian terrorist almost immediately after that, punching Han'Gerrel and ordering him to leave Normandy, telling the quarian she would happily watch they be annihilated if they didn't accept peace with the geth).

The shore leave on the Citadel came as a much needed break for her. After Thane's memorial she finally peaced her heart and accepted his death. Once the party with her crew was over, she was once again the Shepard of old times and ready to face Cerberus and the Reapers one last time.

At the end... at the end... I don't know. I can't really see any of those ends as the end of Elena Shepard's adventure. But I like to think she died and met Thane across the sea as they promised.

During her imprisonment, she stopped bleaching her hair but still went with the yellow/golden N7 armor. Pistols and sniper rifles were her weapons of choice once again.
