I am surprised that some PC BSNers don't know about this.....

 

It requires the command console and you can find out how to do that here...

Make sure you do not have any keybinds set on the "Tab" and "Tilde" key to actually activate the console in-game...

 

Maps that are accessible to be used as testing ground:

 

(Must first put open and then the stage command to actually enter it. The game will load the character that is currently deployed in MP. Go to MP and select the character you want to go into the testing ground and then exit out of the Multiplayer. Some characters will require you to open testing maps within the MP to actually load the character such as Retaliation characters.)

There are more DLC maps, but they aren't accessible due to coding....which is the reason why most MP weapons cannot be put into Single Player without extensive modding.

 

The difficulty of the testing mode is Bronze difficulty only and and the faction you receive is random. When you go to the pause menu, it'll be the single player pause menu, and so, you cannot view the amount of XP, Faction, or difficulty.

 

Within the testing ground, you can use commands like Fly, Ghost, PlayersOnly, giveitem, givepower, god and etc...

 

Note: Anything you do in Testing Ground does not affect the Multiplayer...and it is an offline mode...

Nah, it wasn't the host. It was just me messing around while killing....I wanted to see if people could see the discarded weapon or could actually pick it up....

get on pc, unlock in-game console, ThrowWeapon all day erryday. I used to drop cain launchers tho. Shurikens, Scorpions? ur cheap man.

I wouldn't call it "hacking" precisely, but I like to throw things around on the field. Unfortunately, you can't summon anything. Not unless you enter the testing mode which puts you in an offline Multiplayer mode where nothing counts....

What I said was that unlocking the game console requires a hack. So yes, it is hacking. Whether you use it to cheat or not is not relevant

That was done through open biop_mpgeth That puts you in an offline Multiplayer mode. In short, it's a testing ground. If you like to set up great shots or weird things, testing ground is where you should go. biop_mpgeth is Hydra map. I'm waiting to get a Juggernaut so that I can make him Biotic Charge!

Hmm, guess I was wrong. Would like to see some UR weapons spawn on the ground like in UT or Borderlands, pity that's incompatible with ME's game mechanics.

good for getting rid of cobra on glacier and such but otherwise meh unless u gonna bind gimme commands too but that's just lame

Interesting, tho I'm more interested in the free cam mod, it's a shame that Bioware didn't include a Theatre mode or something similar in the first place, I bet there would have been a helluva of awesome ME footages/screenshots by fans.

Actually I've never tested that, imagine a caster class picking up other's BW and still keep +200% CD rate, that would be OP.

There's a bunch! I can freecam in Multiplayer but I can't pause the game. It's a cool tool to look for spawns before heading anywhere, but it leaves you vulnerable.

Yeah, I think those kind of editing is best done in a recorded demo so that you can pause/replay, not in live multiplayer.

Donno if the UT3 command "Demorec [demoname]" still works in this game or not, but I think they've cut that function.

Well, there's no replaying, but you can pause the game with the command PlayersOnly. Take this photo of mine for example...I paused the game and toggled my fly cam to a position where I want to snap the photo with the in-game screenshot taker which is shot.

Uhm... I'm very interested in this offline MP mode. Care to tell us more? Is the only available map Hydra? How hard is the hack to get it working?

Well, there's no replaying, but you can pause the game with the command PlayersOnly. Take this photo of mine for example...I paused the game and toggled my fly cam to a position where I want to snap the photo with the in-game screenshot taker which is shot.
