So choose your favorite anime movies from the first poll (you can select multi-options).

This topic can be helpful for you to find good anime movies, plus the ones that are related to their series.

The second poll comes later after considering your comments.

My favorites would be Ghost in the Shell, Pokemon The First Movie, and Grave of the Fireflies. I liked Ghost In The Shell's exploration of "What is human?", and I can't resist cyberpunk. Pokemon's first movie was dark and had serious cojones taking that direction. GotF is awesome, though I can't say one can "enjoy" the movie. I'll save you some time for those who'd rather skip it, and it is a spoiler:
Spoiler

Ninja Scroll is okay, good action. Akira was outlandish and weird, though it has the most iconic way of stopping a motorcycle and it's good at throwing mindbending stuff at the audience. Eva 1.0 feels more like a HDed, somewhat switched-around version of the original TV series + the movies. I'd only seen the first 2 so I'm no expert on it, though.

My picks besides the listed...

Perfect Blue, Paprika, Princess Mononoke, End of Evangelion.

Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Sword of the Stranger from that list.

I could narrow it down to Ghost in the Shell and Sword of the Stranger under threat of death, but from then on it's a tie.

Great anime that is for some unfathomable reason not on that list: Mononoke Hime. Seriously, it belongs there.

I haven't watched many of the anime I listed but at least I know the art style and the setting to begin with. Suggestions ... the more, the better.

I loved Ghost in the Shell.  Its tone, the music, and the themes it explores were all perfect I think.  In general, its one of my favorite movies.

Spirited Away, GitS, Akira and Grave of the Fireflies are the only ones I've watched tbh.

Well, I watched that Broly movie, technically... but no.

You are entitled to that opinion.

I am also entitled to my opinion that you make a very poor flamebait with inflammatory ignorance alone.

No Vampire Hunter D or Golgo 13? Disappoint. You could also add M.D. Geist. Hmmmm... Studio Ghibli: Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle..The Girl Who Leapt Through Time<3<3

Edit: Whoops, you got Castle in the Sky. :D Hmmm, Steamboy? Lily C.A.T... I'm too tired to think of more. My niece said "add The Cat Returns", lol.

Of all the DBZ movies why is Broly on there?

Lord Slug is the best one, Broly sucks bro. Especially Mud Broly from Bio-Broly

BioBrolyVsTrunks.png

Also where's The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya or The Rebellion Story?

Whatever, went with Sword of the Stranger. Though Interstella 5555 is pretty good too, even though it's basically an extended music video for Daft Punks Discovery album. (Not that it's a problem, it's Daft Punk so it's still godlike music...though Random Access Memory was pretty meh in comparison to Alive)

I definitely need to see Tortoro and Wolf Brigade one of these days.

You are Umasou. This film is just delightful. The animation is very good, and it's pretty stylized. It's about a T-rex who has to come to terms with being raised as a plant eater. Theres also dino kung fu, and training montages. This film has not been localized, so there aren't many options to view it legitimately. Google it, watch it, cry manly tears.
Spoiler

Skycrawlers. I've watched this film countless times. It's a very patient film that explains very little. But it mainly is about a pilot, who's fighting in a fabricated war designed to keep the public entertained and docile. There's also a question of whether or not the pilot is reliving his life in a never ending cycle of fighting, I guess the upcoming Tom Cruise film might be playing around with something similar.
Spoiler

I also like the Patlabor movies, Macross Plus, Sea Prince & Fire Child.

This is a Kaiser themed anime poll. On more than one occasion he and Lotion has said that everyone in the anime/manga thread has horrible tastes in anime. His options were bound to not line up with a lot of peoples'.

Of the options there, Sword of the Stranger is definitely my pic of awesomesauce anime movie.

Gonna go with Interstella, simply because Daft Punk's best album Discovery beats everything else. Although, if I were to judge based on non-extended music videos then my vote would go to Miyazaki's My Neighbour Totoro. The Bebop film was good but it didn't quite live up to the same potential as the show but it's definitely up there with Japanimation films I enjoyed and I haven't really watched many.

Also...

Random Access Memory was pretty meh in comparison to Alive)

Lolno.

Dragon Ball Z: Broly was the higher rated anime movie in one of the anime websites. I only have the first Dragon Ball anime movie and the last DBZ anime movie, but they're not the best out there so I used that list on that website.

Lolno.

Lolyes. Get Lucky was fine, but the rest of the songs were quite forgettable.

Alive had far better energy, and better songs.

Random Access Memories isn't just among their best LPs, it also incorporated tunes from the best eras of music mixed inwith some good electronica. The worst record they've made is Homework, noisy garbage can best describe that record. Only Discovery beats Access Memories.

Sigh... No Princes Mononoke on the list that is just wrong. Hmmm only 3 on the list that I liked think I will go with Ghost in the shell.
