Seriously. It's like a primitive prototype of the Tricorder from Star Trek.  Here is a video on YouTube: SCiO: Your Sixth Sense

I took the nerd test and scored 41 out of 300.

Now tell me how much of a nerd I am.

Nerds, nerds everywhere.

Without Nerds, you wouldn't be here.

You would be in a cave.

But, something about the product seems off.

Mostly about the use of the "Cloud". Are the algorithms so intensive that phones can't calculate them?

Actually, never mind, that sounds pretty plausible that most if not all phones couldn't handle that.

Everything else seems a little too advanced though. You'd figure if it only took 3 years to completely change the size of a spectrometer, we wouldn't have to do it now. Also fishy is that spectrometers use samples that are isolated in order to get a clear reading. With this, you'd get air, dust, and other things in the way between the object you're scanning and the device giving a kind of interference.
