Gallego is how we say it in South America. Deal with it.

We don't have to deal with it because it's not only wrongly used, but it`s pejorative too. Here all the people have been respecful giving their opinions, and now I just would ask you to do the same. Thanks.

I don't think anyone is trying to be 'hateful' towards Spanish but as other people have mentioned, Bioware/EA are a company - they can't be expected to support voice-acting in a certain language when they think it will be an economic loss. I don't know anything about the game market in Spain, but Bioware's games are more likely to get dubbed in Spanish as the if the market there increases.

Personally, I would hate it if games came dubbed in my native language (which is Swedish) and I couldn't change it back to the original English. In fact, I think I probably wouldn't buy the game in that case.

Hooray for catch 22's!!
Won't dub the game because the market is too small for it to be justified, but possibly a dubbed version could increase the player base enough to make it viable. All the same, can't blame EA as the publisher for not straying outside their usual areas. At the end of the day their only obligation is too make money and ship a game.

You keep calling it  "Original English" but all the languages they could make a VO are originals too, because videogame characters don't have any voice or language, so if Bioware decided to do a Swedish VO, it would be just as original as the English version except for the character's lips movements that I think are only for English.

I play Bioware games since SWKOTOR, and i'm a Brazilian. And just now we have a bioware game in portuguese. Of course, its only the subtitles, but i hate Brazilian portugues VO anyway....

But, why just now? It's simple: Brazil is one of the fastest growing gaming market in the world. I think we are now the bigest market in latin america. So, bioware and EA games see potential in Brazil to translate their game for portuguese. If peaple Mexico, Spain and other latin america countrys buy bioware games, maybe you got your VO.

Obs: sorry for my inglish....

The English VO is the original because the dialogue is written in English. All other VOs have translated dialogue and translations are never perfect.

mmm...Yes, you're right there. Translations aren't perfect but I mean there's no original voice the way they are in films.  ;)

Actually, if, as you pointed out earlier, the lip syncing is done in English, then it stands to reason that the original language, the one the vos are synced to, would be English.

Of course. I mean there's no original voice because the characters have no it's own voice, but English is the original language. If they made lips sync for each language they do a VO it would be great, but I assume it would be too much work for the profit..

But what Spanish do you dub it in?  Aren't there like 60 forms of Spanish spoken all over the world?

No, there is just one Spanish language, but many different accents. The language is the same, only change some slang words in each country.

Same way english has many accents, but you can always go for a neutral one

I'd love to have your problems.

No, seriously. Having games fully voiced in Spanish is obviously not profitable for EA, otherwise they would have done it. It doesn't matter how many people speak that language, but how many buy the game. So the facts from wiki, as interesting as they are, are not what EA or Bioware use when they make plans about translating into other languages.

So, unless you can make people speaking your language all over the world start buying Bioware games, I don't think that will change anytime soon. But it doesn't have anything to do with "hatred" or any other feelings. It's money. World is like that.

There are many people whose language will never make it to the spoken translation and they are fine with English. My language either and we have czech Witcher, Baldur's gate, an other games, too. And I'm actually glad. I know Bioware puts a lot of efforts into their game and the VO performances are going to be amazing, which is something I might not get from czech dub. Besides, it's a great way to practise English, too.

I am sorry if you're disappointed, but like I said - there is little anyone of us other than the companies themselves can do about it.

It's very easy. As simple as using the accent that languages schools teach....that's what we could call "neutral accent"...just the same way they taught me at the English school here in Spain...in this case what we call "BBC" English (UK).

I'm a bit disappointed because several companies launch very many Spanish VO versions everyday, but Bioware have decided not to do it with Dragon Age Saga, one of my favourite games ever (well...let's say Origins and probably Inquisition...DAII was sooooo lower than Origins)...  I think I cloud say that Dragon Age Inquisition will be one of the few "Top Games" wich companies will launch this year in a non fully Spanish version... I'm just trying to get used to the idea... -_-

Hello Navoletti, again I tell you it depends just on the casting they do same as in all jobs, there should be good and bad Spanish voice actors.

Why don't you like Spanish accent?...I'm so used to Argentinian accent, not only for Messi... ;) , because here in Spain live many people from your country. I find your accent funny and I like it. I don't like you generalize saying  "Southamericans hate the accent of Spain". I'm living in Madrid right now, and here I'm used to hear almost every South American accents everyday, and I like all of them since everyone has it's own charm. I have friends from Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Chile, and I really enjoy hearing them...why do you hate Spanish accent?....I can't understand it and think it's so sad.

Excuse me but I find a bit small-minded asking Bioware not to carry out a Spanish VO. If you like English, just ask English for you country but have a little respect for people like me, who really would like hearing DA:Inquisition in Spanish....Have you imagined hearing Varric saying "Che, pelotudo!"...I think it would be great... :D

Most of the times, i don't like spanish VA, but saying the voices on spanish are **** just because you don't like the accent is almost xenophobic.

The reason why the games isn't in your language is MONEY. Nothing else. The cost is to high. The return to little.

Most of games are in my language, but INQUISITION wich could become my favourite game won't be (the voices)....that's all...and I know the problem are sales (money) I realized many messages ago, and agree with the forum member who said :

NO Spanish VO >>> NO good sales

NO good Sales >>> NO Spanish VO

If this had happened with any other game I had never mind....I wish DA:Inquisition sales in Spain will be good enough to hear in Spanish the next Bioware masterpiece.

I personally like the fact that we're going to have a subtitled (not dubbed) version of DA:I in Poland... even though the dubbed version of DA:O was really great (in my opinion). Some lousy dubbing can ruin everything, but a good one might add extra value to the game itself.

As I think about it, it doesn't make such a big difference to me -  but it's understandable that somebody might prefer dubbing. Well, we cannot change some things.

Even when I think I will prefer overall DA:INQUISITION, I can't help wishing best luck in sales for MIDDLE EARTH: SHADOW OF MORDOR becasuse it will have texts and voices in Spanish, while Bioware have had years developing this Dragon Age, but however they haven't taken so much care about this issue. The way I see it, they have decided to place Money before quality and customers satisfaction, and haven't run the risk even knowing it could provide benefits too...or simply they could haven't taken the trouble and let it pass....maybe they didn't even consider to do a Spanish VO.

                                ...BRAVO, MONOLITH!!!
