Finn and Ariane, since the Eluvian seem to play a much bigger role then in DA2, if judging from Masked Empire
Also, they might know were the Warden has gone

They've hinted that a revived Eleni Zinovia (the prophetic statue in the Tower of Magi) might return in DAI, so I'm very curious to see what they're going to do with her...

I really wish to see Connor, Dagna, Zevran and Shale again!
...and my Warden dancing with Morrigan at a fancy orlesian masked ball. ![]()
Hawke would be too busy fleeing from Templars and Starkhaven's soldiers with Anders to dance.

Given the scope of DAI's story, I can imagine pretty much everyone having a reason to turn up.
Any of our old Wardens are top of my list - Warden Alistair, Loghain, Beth/Carver, Awakening Wardens (but... not Oghren).
I'd also like to see Zevran and Anora.

Seems I'm majorly in the minority here, but: As few as possible. Dragon Age already tends towards "small world" syndrome, and with three different protagonists over three game games, it makes a lot less sense for us to run into the same people often than it did in Mass Effect where Shep was a common thread for these people.

I've got to throw my hat in for Loghain. Only one of my playthroughs had Loghain as alive, and it's probably my favorite narrative of the Warden I made. The choice to bring in Loghain seems like the best option, both in foresight (More wardens never bad right?) and in Hindsight (Have Loghain kill himself so everyone wins in the end), but Alistair's ultimatum is the proverbial wrench in the design.
I was playing DA:O half-blind (One playthrough done, but no guides or anything), so I figured from experience with my first warden, I might have the option to LI or Hardened persuade Alistair to stay, that didn't happen so my female mage decided to opt for grief-stricken irrationality and sacrifice herself. It was a very "in the moment" and organic call I felt, especially considering the fate of the Grey Wardens anyway anchoring far enough away from "lolwimminz and their emotions" cliche/stereotypes.

Merrill, as I would like to see some conclusion to this whole eluvian plot and to see what part Merrill played as well as the different outcomes of rivalry and friendship that were hinted at earlier.
