Hold up.

I have a difficult time supporting a religious organization that promotes bulliness and abuse, and not to mention imprisoning people and elves who haven't done anything illegal, but to be guilty of breathing and being different.

Why the elf hate? They are people too.

This isn't really serious. Just pointing your post out. :P

I don't hate the elves :) And no. The elves do not recognized themselves as humans. In fact they call humans Shemlens :)

But they recognize themselves as people. People =/= Human. Heck, the Dalish refer to themselves as The People.

Anyone who is thinking outside of the box real quick would realize that taking mages to the circle, and imprisoning them like criminals is flat out wrong.

Needs of the many > Needs of the few.

I'm fine with thinking "outside of the box" so long as the mages remain in theirs.

Zing!

The Chantry should go the Saarebas route, make them into collared and obedient walking WMDs.

What do you guys have against mages so much? Why such hate? Did a mage turned one of your friends into frogs or something? If so he/she might of deserved it.

But not using them on other people, apparently!

Hated =/= Uselessness.

I'm only appreciating the... rather interesting process of reasoning at play here.

Interesting?! Let me tell you interesting overused marketing gimmick.

I hate sparkly fingered magical artillery and prefer to scientifically advance to gunpowder and cluster projectiles then followed by systematic destruction of the robes, but the battlefield says that will be a newb move. We need powerful city busters (but not so powerful that it develops a mind of its own and starts killing innocents for the LOLZ) and current non-voodoo weaponry is woefully inadequate against the Bolshevik Legions and Imperial Planetcrackers. But that doesn't suggest that whinny magical idiots shouldn't be heavily guarded by Crusaders and indoctrinated to be 140% loyal to Humankind and the one true divinity.

Is Humankind even loyal to Humankind? I'm sure putting all of these "city-busters" at the command of a single authority, especially in a place as unified and harmonious as Thedas, couldn't possibly be disastrous.

That's because the human kingdoms (minus the vampire Kingdom of wussies and black magic) will get the hell liberated out of them and replaced by a new organization called the High Office to the Glorious Mission of the Blessed Andraste hollowed by thy name and Her Champions of the Divine Templar where my Inquisitor is General Secretary Knight-Divine-Lordship.

Sounds very similar to my upcoming canon playthrough. You're doing the Maker's work.

Yep, and all the Chantry Sisters and Revered Mothers will be crackling with sexual energy, but my Inquisitor ain't got time for that.

I hate them but I benefit from their continued existence by taking away their minds and making them like their real world equivalents: Dangerous but under control and ready to roll.

Heh...that rhymed.

So yeah, I'm in favor of the Bolshevik treatment.

Ser Otto Alrik is that you? Do the mages truly scare you that much?

Minus the pie-stealing liar, may he crawl back into his salty dark pit.

Ser Otto Alrik was an idiot and a rapist, I won't follow in his jackboots, I'll just use indoctrination and breaking their will through this mantra:

"Your mind is calm

You are at peace

You have no regrets
You have no fear
You have no friends
You have no family
You are a machine
You follow orders
You kill on command
All heretics must die
No one will be spared
Your mind is calm
You are at peace"

Then send them with Templar hunters to neutralize any apostates.

I'd say mages themselves are not necessarily scary, but rather their potential. Their potential to raze cities, bend minds, and summon creatures from the depths of the spiritual realm. I like mages, A LOT. But that doesn't mean you can't respect and understand the dangers that they represent.

I honestly think that sometimes people like Gaider said, treat mages like victims missing that they have potential to do great harm.

In the end its up to the mage themselves to choose how they live but I think it would be far to dangerous to not have a counter measure in place.

Hence why I think they should be collared and given a liberal dose of that Qunari indoctrination juice.

They already governed themselves.

They just weren't allowed to go anywhere, or do anything.

You don't know dick about "what's happening now", and neither do I, so give it a rest.
