"The shadows will part and the skies will open wide" to me sounds like what is happening in DAI.
“Enchantment?.. Enchantment!" (Spoilers)

Here is a Sandal Bodahn that always has me thinking:
Sandal - "One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide."
Bodahn - "Huh. What's this?"
Sandal - "When he rises, everyone will see."
Bodahn - "By the ancestors, what's gotten into you, my boy?"
Sandal - "Enchantment?"
Bodahn - "Hmph. That's more like it"
When does that happen?

When does that happen?
IIRC, by clicking on Sandal at the Amell's Estate, one of the random things he can say is that one.

Ummmm......ok I've never noticed that one before, not at all creepy. At least we know for sure the veil tears are not Flemeth's doing as sandal says "he", after a line like that, they can't not put him in inquisition.

What if Sandal is another Old God Baby? For there to be a known ritual for it, and for Morrigan to be so sure of it's success, it has to have been done before. Flemeth was the one who taught it to Morrigan so Flemeth would likely have been involved. Maybe the "The Scary Old Lady" is Flemeth checking in on her creation?
My money is on Andraste/Flemeth being the previous old god baby. Seeing as Andraste was born the same year the first Blight ended. But hey, that's just my thinking. (also adds an extra layer of "OH!" when Flemeths says to Hawke "perhaps I am a dragon")
As for Sandal saying stuff, he comes out with some pretty strange stuff in DA2, like Flemeth watching him sleep, how he say he 'wants to go home' while sounding like he's close to crying, to the 'tower in the lake is scary'. Now, Bodahn says he means the Gallows, but I still personally think he means the tower at lake calenhad.

You assume this He is responsible for the events. He rising may just be phase 2 of "her" plan.Ummmm......ok I've never noticed that one before, not at all creepy. Of course you can summon Sandal in DA2 if you know how.
He's quite powerful.

I shall reiterate what I said in a previous thread:
From an interview with David Gaider:
Gaider: I'm a little leery of what was essentially a bit of a joke, and a lot of people are taking him [Sandal] more seriously than he was perhaps intended, to the point that perhaps he may become more important as a result... I think he has a one percent chance of delivering a prophecy.
...
I think as soon as you started having him talk more I kind of got a little bit of the feeling, like we were going somewhere a little uncomfortable to me, almost like we were making fun of mentally handicapped people. He's not mentally handicapped but sometimes he sounds like it. I'm a little leery of what was essentially a bit of a joke, and a lot of people are taking him more seriously than he was perhaps intended, to the point that perhaps he may become more important as a result.
I highly doubt that Sandal is anything more than he seems. Even David Gaider said he never intended for Sandal to be some amazing, prophetic genius.

Another Theory is that Sandal is Tranquil.

I wouldn't be too surprised if he is possessed by a spirit. He was abandoned and left to die. A spirit took pity and due to complications of him being a dwarf his mind was damaged.
I like this explanation. It's like a Wynne situation going on. How sweet.

1. He was found in the deep roads as a baby somehow unharmed.nobody trusts the writers, when will you learn that
2. We find him in Fort Drakon surrounded by a sea of dead darkspawn.
3. We find him surrounded by dead darkspawn AGAIN in the deep roads
4. He somehow froze a full sized ogre solid in one move, something no mage has been able to come close to doing. It would probably take Morrigan 30 cone of colds to take down an ogre.
5. He sees dead people.
6. He profesized an event that only the Oracle and an ancient tome the divine owned had any idea about.
7. The Carta knew to stay away from him and hinted at him being an Aeducan.
If he was just a joke, he was prank. One ten times more complex than the plot of origins.

Nope, avatar of the Stone. As to why he talks that way, stone's never been that great at communication.

Awesome compilation. The only thing I'd change is Bodahn says he found him "Wandering" the deep roads. So I think he was a little older than a baby.

I agree with this theory, I think he's more in tune with the Stone then anyone else. Either being an Avatar of it to give dwarves a presence in each new crisis, or something else with the Stone.

He didn't say wandering, but rewatching it I did notice that he said it was "a few years ago" so Sandal could have been a kid, maybe even older.Awesome compilation. The only thing I'd change is Bodahn says he found him "Wandering" the deep roads. So I think he was a little older than a baby.
