Do you think we'll see the Queen of the Elves herself Velanna in Inquisition? I know many people don't like her character but I actually loved her and the way she was written. She was very brilliant. :D What do you guys think could/might happen to her if she were to show up in Inquisition? Possibly as a Grey Warden, Searching for her sister or maybe in the Elf Rebellion?

Eh, I didn't really like her. I don't particularly want to see her again or care much what happened to her.

She might be at the Vigil fortress if we visit Amaranthine. She could also show up at the gathering of the clans, but that's unlikely because she was banished from the Dalish.

Can I ask why you didn't like her?

She might also be in the deep roads if I'm not mistaken?

It was mostly a personality thing. Abrasive, aggressive characters grate on me quickly.

I understand but do you know/get why she became that way? I get many people hate her because she's not the most welcoming but at least give her a chance after you get to know her.  ^_^

Well if you do replay Awakening, I would suggest using those three together. They are actually really amazing characters. Especially Velanna and Sigrun. I also enjoyed the banter between Nathaniel and Velanna. It was funny. :)

I explore all the dialog options with every character. I always get them all to max friendship. I never kill anyone, or skip anyone. I didn't write off the character, or anything. If she came back, I'd still explore all the content related to her. It's just a personality type that doesn't mesh well with me on an individual level. You probably wont get along with everyone, you know?

Generally, though, I totally support the elves. It's not that.

Gotcha! I do agree some characters you just won't be able to click with. Thank you for letting me know! :D I appreciate your response on the matter, I love hearing peoples different opinions on characters.

I'd love to see her again. She was my favorite companion in Awakening.

Meh, she was forgettable. She is kinda unique in being the most violent blood obsessed elf I've seen, but I felt like we weren't given enough to empathize with her, at least not without reading several codex entries. I prefer being introduces to someone in game, via conversation, dialogues, cut-scenes etc, rather than getting a bit in game and the rest by having to read codex entries. Don't get me wrong I love codices, but their purpose should be to give background on the world in general, not to provide critical data on a companion.

I wouldn't object to her return, but I don't see any reason to bring her back when they could make a new more engaging character to fill whatever role Velana would've fit.

I liked Velanna just fine as I got into playing friendly to the darker characters of the DA realm. Having said that, I want new characters to come along. They did this with DA2, and should keep it with DA:I. I really don't like the fact that Leliana is retconned into DA:I.

I do agree with a lot of the things you've said. But to me she is not forgettable. :)

I am okay with Velanna coming back, even though she was one of my least favorite characters.  She was MIA, but not dead if you left her at Vigil's Keep.  So I'd be open to the idea.

Er, she wasn't though, unless you are referring to possibly "killing her."  She has been the Divine's spy and bodyguard for years since the end of Origins.  Plus, she was also helping Cassandra as a Seeker of Truth to look for the Warden as well as Hawke.  Even in Origins, when you recruit her, she wears the Seeker's Amulet, which should be a big clue.  The Chantry member she saved at the end of Leliana's Song was Revered Mother Dorthea, now known more famously as Divine Justina V, said to be one of the greatest players of The Game.

If you were one of the players that "killed" her, it was most likely in Andraste's Temple at Haven.  Which is full of lyrium, holy spirits and sacred ash wraiths.  If it was shown that she was decapitated, that was an in-game finishing move and not based on the story.  If you "killed" her, yes you saw her HP drop to zero and watched her fall.  Who's to say that the Warden only thought Leliana was dead?
