She was horrible, vindictive, abrasive, contrary. She refused to hear anything anyone had to say. Her opinion was the only one that mattered. She is a selfish sociopath. So, overall, no thank you, Velanna, go away.

I understand but do you know/get why she became that way? I get many people hate her because she's not the most welcoming but at least give her a chance after you get to know her.  ^_^

I don't think it helps that her personal quest is so bugged. I disliked her for quite a while (part of it meta, because I was so annoyed at how much time I'd wasted wandering to trigger her quest), until one one playthrough I got lucky and the quest triggered. It took me a long time, but I do quite like her now, and I can understand where her perspective comes from, even if I disagree.

Also, if you look at how she gives approval, it's clear that she will accept an alternative opinion, even if she verbally seems to disagree (such as the dialogue at the Andraste statue and how the Dalish wouldn't be any better than the Chantry if they were the ones with power, with the city elf pair, or telling her to make up stories for the Dalish instead of being angry about the ones they've lost). At the end of her banters with Justice, she's also considering making amends for killing the people in the Wending Wood (and if you persuade her to support saving Amaranthine).

She's completely selfish and she cares nothing for anyone else. She says she cares for her sister unless her sister doesn't act like Velana thinks she should. She says she is looking out for elves, but they have tossed her out because she thinks her power and convictions give her the right to act however she wants. She never needs question those convictions because she kills everyone in her way.

And she tries to kill me. Don't like her.

Velanna certainly requires the most work on the Warden's part to gain approval, but where it all falls apart for me is with the Architect. I understand that she cares about her sister and all, but it's pretty clear that she's a lost cause to the taint, and there's no way in the seven hells that I'm letting any kind of darkspawn live. I'm camp Sigrun on this matter; they all must die.

But that's the problem. The approval is a high level meta-game thing. IRL, no such counter exists that we can see. What we see is the response. And her response is pretty rude and dismissive, when it's not caught up in Dalish essentialism. She's an interesting character, and she's very realistic, IMO, in that she's much closer to what we'd see as the norm in a group of people as victimized for so long as the Dalish, but that doesn't make her actually tolerable as a person.

Honestly though I found her quite tolerable. It must be just me then.

Velanna definitely changes some of her views because of her interactions with the warden...at least if you choose to befriend her. The epilogue shows this as well.

Well, she'd won't come back in my canon playthrough. My Cousland made her pay for the innocent people she killed. As far as he was concerned, she was an enemy.

What do you mean she wouldn't come back? You can't kill her if that is what you're implying.

We can kill her... in her camp we can recruit her or kill her also (im not sure here) possible that she sides against you if you want kill architect.

Can and did actually. You can kill her instead of recruiting her.

Just went in-game to recruit her and I don't have the option. Unless it's bugged.

Per the wiki: The Warden-Commander can kill her for her crimes, otherwise she will offer herself to the Grey Wardens in hope of finding her sister.

The Dialogue option, if I recall is "I'd rather just kill you". You can also tell her to bugger off, or let her go off to find her sister herself.

Most of my Wardens, especially my human/city Elf ones, kill her. Racism and predjudice are not a valid excuse for murder. My only ones who show her any mercy are my Dalish and Dwarven ones.

Weird. I loaded up a save with my Dalish Elf and it won't bring up any options to kill her.

I like Velanna, but don't have a pressing need to see her. Would be cool though.

OTOH, I fear she'd only be doing Warden related stuff. Which is boring. Any character could do that. Her personal history was more interesting. I always wished she'd make peace with her clan, but I guess it's too late for that.

Honestly if she'd have to come back, I'd really love her to be involved with the Elves rebellion tbh more.

Here's a video of it. It's possible that Dalish elves can't kill her. I don't know, as I've never tried with my Dalish elves. They're very forgiving of other Dalish.

If she is alive, though, She'll be searching for her sister, if anything. No way is she going to stop doing that, elf rebellion or no.
