Here's a video of it. It's possible that Dalish elves can't kill her. I don't know, as I've never tried with my Dalish elves. They're very forgiving of other Dalish.

If she is alive, though, She'll be searching for her sister, if anything. No way is she going to stop doing that, elf rebellion or no.

Thank you! But I have to disagree. I do think she'd be apart of the rebellion.

I wouldn't even try killing her on a Dalish. She keeps it real. It was a breath of fresh air. I also sympathize with her concern for her sister. It's a bit similar to the Dalish origin with Tamlen.

Velanna was kind of like Sten for me. She was a vile individual who I had a moral objection to taking along, and who I left behind with no regrets. But on my third playthrough (which was mostly intended to experience interesting content I didn't get to on my first two runs), I did make her part of my team and she was a fun personality to have interacting with the rest of the characters. I guess in her case she can actually change for the better though.

I'm not sure if bringing her back is the best idea. I would actually not mind seeing her again, but if she survived she has so many different states that they'd probably have to retcon or disregard all her epilogues for one that they want.

I wouldn't mind seeing her again. She's not my favorite by a long shot but I still like her. Though if you get her approval up all the way the epilogue will mention her saving a human village from darkspawn. which I guess could mean her rage is more focused on the darkspawn and she's more sympathetic(that may or may not be the right word) to the humans, even though I don't think she'll ever like them. With the whole rebellion thing this could put her in a voice of reason position among the dalish, which I think it could be great if her story went that way..

Honestly if she'd have to come back, I'd really love her to be involved with the Elves rebellion tbh more.

Common misconception.

As pointed out (and then hammered in five more times) in Masked Empire the Dalish elves care very little about the City elves. Judging from the book (which is probably accurate as it is the most recent source we have) the Dalish consider the city elves little better than humans, and some Dalish clans would be unwilling to take in city elf refugees as they were considered a lost cause to 'true elfdom'. Dalish elves are arrogant pricks basically lol.

So in all likelihood Velanna wouldn't even want to help the city elf rebellion.

Velanna herself has shown her opinion on city elves. It'd be funny if she grew out of this though.

By Dalish standards Velanna was exiled for favoring a more aggressive stance towards humans. She's a maverick in that regard. She may look down on the city elves, but I'd be willing to bet that she'd be quick to act if she saw them suffering under human oppression. That's just who she is. The Warden might soften her a bit, but Velanna is almost anti-human. 'Enemy of my enemy' and all that.  In this case her 'friends' being closer to 'kin'.

Nathaniel and his smooth ways probably softened her up a bit too.

But then again.. Anders probably made her hate humans again. Rinse, repeat.

Velanna has a negative opinion on City Elves, but it's much less negative than Keeper Thelhen in the Masked Empire. She gives them something to "help them remember who they are" and he says they are "lost to us forever."

But there is no City Elf Rebellion. Celene crushed it. If Briala starts a new one, then based on her attitude towards them, the Dalish may or may not join it.

If we assume that the Velanna that learned to be less racist in the epilogue appears in a future game, then she'd probably be much less hostile to both humans and city elves.

While this is potentially true, Velanna is also a Grey Warden now, and they are fairly strict about allowing their members to become involved in internal political affairs. I just feel Velanna has too many items in the 'Do not help Elven Rebellion:' column and too few in the 'Do help Elven Rebellion:' column. Her Sister, her new job, her attitude toward city elves, her location (Amaranthine and the surroundings are on the far side of Fereldan compared to Orlais). The only pros: she likes killing humans.

I don't know about that. They start off as aholes with Tamlen. What other DA origin starts off with you threatening to kill people?

I like them though. Not sure who's more divisive. Dalish or Qunari.

Well only ahole was tamlen clan wasn't anti-human like they were in da 2.

Zathrian clan was fine but distrustful if you were nice you could to get along even zathrian was quite nice to my human warden.

In da 2 entire clan was bunch of jerks that was spamming me with insults and reminding that im human and that is bad.Only keeper and merril were nice others well...

Well now well little more than bandits.

The Warden's clan in DA2 has been through hell, like you and your family. They lost their halla, Tamlen, Mahariel (either to death or the wardens), and Merrill dealt with a demon. It's kind of like a whole clan of Carvers.

I actually love the Dalish, they are interesting and unique group. I also love that the writers decided to completely split City Elf and Dalish into two categories who end up disliking each other. Humans aren't unified why should elves be? (Dwarves are split as well, between Kal Shirok and Orzammar, and they hate each other).

On top of that the Dalish have a fairly unique society based on stagnation and permanent decline. The events of Masked Empire mark the greatest advancement of elven knowledge in hundreds of years, and that ends up in the hands of Briala, not the Dalish themselves.

They needed help.

Zathrian himself isn't any better though. He was willing to curse humans and all of their children and children's children perpetually for all time. That's some hardcore hate. A part of me can't blame him though.

It would have been interesting to see her in DA2 but then you'd have a completely different character and a rewrite of the situation, as I don't think it would be as simple as removing Anders and putting Velanna in his place the scenario should at least make sense.

Well still they accepted and as i said if you were nice they were nice mostly as well in fact only guard and story teller were mean rest based on how do you treat them so rather fair.

Zathrian was hsotile toward peoples that wronged him and their ancestors and there was his hate focused not on all humans as i said he wasn't hostile toward my human warden (as long you weren't di***)

I'm pretty sure the clans have their individual modi operandi. Some might be xenophobic and others might go as far as living near and trading with human settlements.

This! We honestly have no idea how all of the Dalish clans feel towards human, or any of the other problems happening in Thedas. So it's foolish to say all of them wouldn't get involved in the Elves rebellion since we have no way of knowing it. Same with Velanna if you took the chance to make a some what relationship with her she softens up a bit and actually saves a human town. So really there is no way of knowing what might happen.

Dalish have every reason to despise humans and distrust city elves who also show no knowledge about their wild relatives. In fact I will never understand city elves: humans treat you worse than ****, you live in a dump and you stay because?.. It's better to live in a forest and die remembering who your true people are than spend your whole life as servants
People are all for mage rebellion and blowing up buildings with defenceless civilians cause revoluzion but if Dalish want to be left alone they call them pricks?
Double standards, I say

City Elves have the same reasons as the Casteless Dwarves probably.

Now wouldn't it be smart if the Casteless Dwarves teamed up with City Elves? Feels like that would be a really obvious thing.

That would be my favorite faction and I would always support them. ^_^
