About to go do From Ashes, and I am wondering what would be more trollish for him to see when waking up. EDI being there or Garrus. Cant make up my mind on this one.

Given his feelings about synthetics, revealed as the game goes on, it's probably way more troubling for him to see EDI standing over him. In fact, I think it would have been pretty cool if he'd shot her with the particle rifle when he first opened his eyes. Not that I want to see EDI get shot particularly, but it would have been consistent with Javik's character.

EDI it is then. I've gone with Garrus and James already and Liara is always mandatory (damnit)

I've tried Garrus, and EDI as well, on that mission. Most of the time it's James though, because it's usually the first mission I do after Mars.

I've never really taken EDI with me before. Usually tried to stick to Liara and Garrus since its a throwback to the old days.

I like bringing EDI. Javik's reaction is pretty funny.

 

BTW, how does he react to Tali? I forget. I only did it once.

The good thing is, you don't have to wait any longer to get EDI than you did for Garrus. One of these days I'm going to wait til after the coup to get Javik, and take the VS along, since they were on Eden prime before. But I haven't had the patience to do it yet, because I like Javik too much.

I didn't find the VS's dialogue to be worth it.

I thinks, I will bring EDI next time. I just like to bring him for Thessa just because it makes that arc so much better. Instead of hearing Liara break down for all the mission I give her a reason to break down.

Well, as Tsuyanoshi says, it'd just be a throwback to the old days. More i think about it, I don't normally take Javik on too many missions before the coup anyway... at least not in my last few playthroughs.

Can't imagine Javik dealing with Synthesis. Yet you can see him standing at the memorial scene with circuits all around.

I think it's a clue that no one knows what the hell happened in Synthesis (including the in-game characters), I think the concept that a giant energy wave fundamentally altering the basic foundation of life in such a radical manner would have been so far fetched that no one would have thought about it.

I kind of wish you could actually mess with characters in Mass Effect. ME1 was definitely where the party was when it came to being a jerk to people. ME2 also had its shining moments though, like telling the Council where they could put their Spectre status.

Pretty much in all the trilogy you can REALLY mess with Tali:

 

- Tell her you don't want her in your squad when recruiting her.

- Be mean with her in the Normandy.

- Deny her the Geth data.

- Give Veetor to Cerberus.

- Don't save Kal'Reegar.

- (I don't know if you can screw Lia'Vael on the Citadel...but if so, do it with Tali present).

- Again, with Tali present, convince Harrot to harass even more the quarian on Omega.

- Present the proof in Tali's trial.

- Don't defend her in her arguments with Daro'Xen and the turian on the Citadel.

- Kill the quarians and watch her (finally!) commit suicide.
