AMD FX-Series X8 8320 3.5GHz (clocked @4,2GHz)

DDR3 8GB Kingston, HyperX Blue, 1600MHz

Gigabyte R9 270X 2GB OC

ASUS M5A97

Corsair 500W

Kingston SSD 120GB

HDD 500MB

Akyga AKY003BL

I built this last year, planning to upgrade graphics some time later, because at the time the likes of 7970/290x were still too pricey. But im happy with the way it is now :)

I heard AMD is giving its R9 280X another price cut. You might want to check it out.

There's also a new R9 275 going to be released soon if you want to look at that.

Alternatively, check out for some nice GTX 770, with AMDs price cut, it's not entirely unlikely that Nvidia will tag along to remain at competitive pricing in that range and the GTX 770 is already a pretty good value (not as good a value as the mentioned R9 280X at its current cost, but it is the more powerful GPU (in most cases at least).

GPU: GeForce GTX 760(192 bit)

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

Memory: 8.00 GB RAM (7.91 GB usable)

Current Resolution: 1366 x 768. 60Hz

OS: Windows 8.1

And I have no idea what ANY of that means, other than I was told that it was really good. It plays every game I've gotten so far at the highest settings.

Yes, it is very good.

So good in fact that you are boring your poor PC to death by playing on 720p resolution only. The next thing you're going to upgrade should be a new monitor. A good 1080p monitor. Until then, you could even undervolt your CPU and GPU to save money on energy bills and you could still play everything at maximum graphics at your current resolution.

Until then I'll have a new beast. Am already starting to save up money so I'll have a nice sum to spend by the end of next year when Intel Broadwell and the second generation of Nvidia Maxwell GPUs are available.

Consumerist is such a great thing. I'm 34. I purchased my share of computer. I guess I am just growing out of the ''look at my pc''.

Yeah, I know my monitor is pretty crap, it's left over from my old PC that broke a few years back and with how much this once cost, I didn't get a new one. I probably need new speakers too.

Somebody bought me a new monitor(looks nice, like a small flat screen TV) but when I tried using it, it messed with my computer a bit(or I some how screwed up the simple task of plugging in a monitor) and I've been paranoid about trying to set it up again.

Consumerist is such a great thing. I'm 34. I purchased my share of computer. I guess I am just growing out of the ''look at my pc''.

I am far from being a consumerist.

I've had exactly three PCs in my entire lifetime, the old PC my father gave me on my 16th birthday (which was only available because he got himself a completely new one, so I got the spare), then a laptop I got when I started my studies at university (which burned through already and is the cause for my latest) and my current PC I had gotten a couple months after my laptop was done for, now more than a year past.

I'm not saving up my PC because I want to blow money away just because I have it (which I don't, hence why I am saving up a year and a half in advance), but because I will likely need it if I want to play upcoming videogames at high graphic settings (because in two years, a GTX 660Ti won't be high end anymore ... assuming it won't break down).

I know, still a luxury purchase, but not consumerism. And you shouldn't be so quick to judge people like that, and even less deriding them, only because they comment on a lighthearted thread like this one. There's a moment for cynicism if you want to, but this one isn't it.

I've got a friend who trained his dog to retrieve the Wiimotes he'd occasionaly throw in a fit of rage when the game on his Wii console wouldn't work like he wanted it too.

As far as my latest information goes, all his four Wiimotes are still in perfect working condition. All slobbed up by doggy, but still working. And he's still throwing them around if my last visit was any indicator ...

I know 2 different guys who claim they have broken their precious new flat TVs by waving the wiimote around as it were a cold weapon :D They are Nokia 3310 of gaming controllers.

My PC is very impressive, if I showed it around 5-6 years ago. It's a dell i5 with an nVidia card that can handle the Witcher 2 Okay, though the frame rate isn't great with that one. Probably won't handle Next-Gen very well, so I'd either have to buy a PS4 or grab a supercharged PC Elitism Approved™ Video Card.

My tinnitus is worse in silence. Audible noise from the scythe gentle typhoon fans are much more soothing.

Sexy. How many women do you pickup every week?

Like, on a scale of 1-10, how many women throw their sopping wet panties at you on any given weekend?

Nice. But your job won't be complete unless you can pull your BMI in women everyday.

So, you're about half way there. Keep it up, sexy!

I've had that pretty much my whole life and didn't know until a couple months ago that it wasn't "normal" lol. I just thought a ringing in your ear(s) was something that happened when it was quiet. Found out it was an actual condition from Miracle of Sound who made a video talking about how he got it recently. It doesn't really bother me all that much(which doesn't seem to be the case for most other people), I guess because I grew up with it.
