Since the Collector's Edition is exclusive to Gamestop and Gamestop won't ship outside the UK or Ireland: mainland Europe is just royally screwed?

So the Collector's Edition is exclusive to Gamestop. There are no Gamestops in Belgium. Gamestop in the UK and Ireland sell the Collector's edition but won't ship them to any other country. So the entirety of mainland Europe just got screwed by a very stupid exclusivity deal?

Thanks for thinking of all your European fans or fans in countries with no gamestop Bioware. Really. Thanks.

That is not a problem in Sweden since we have GameStop but I have another issue with this version!

I got so exited when I saw this version since I am a collector and always buys these kinds of things and I would especially want one from my favorite game franchise but it's not available for the PC?

What the hell Bioware!?!

I got all exited, went down to GameStop to preorder it only to be told that it is only for PS4 and Xbox One.

Last time I checked Dragon Age was very populare on PC but us PC gamers doesn't count or something?

I am so sorry for invading your question like this, but they seriously have to make this version more available!

The producer of DAI actually said on Twitter they're working on it. :)

They sell localized versions of the game (dubbed in German and Italian). They do not have the PC version. And they will not ship across state lines either.

As someone living outside the EU, North America and Oceania, this state of affairs is disappointing.

I wonder how much Gamestop paid EA to have it exclusive. Seems like Amazon should have gotten it

I don't know about the German version, but I can assure you that the Italian one is not going to be dubbed.

Mass Effect got a complete Italian dubbing, Dragon Age doesn't. Only subtitles and interface has been translated.

Sorry, I got my info from here, and for some reason I remembered Italian as a VO language,

Yeah, currently, only countries that have Gamestop are getting the Inquisitor's edition. I fear that other countries just won't get it at all.  They've said that if preorders for the Inquisitor's edition have run out in certain countries (Canada and Australia), it's because they want to make sure that they'll be able to produce enough Inquisitor's editions for release and so they can't take an infinite amount of pre-orders.

That means that if they were planning on providing Inquisitor's editions for other countries, they would have to do it now as well to make sure they know how many they need to produce.  Seeing as how there is no word on other countries with no Gamestop getting the IE, I would think no other country will get the Inquisitor's edition.  I am severely disappointed.  EA and Bioware tend to do really strange things when it comes to collector's editions.

The PC version is still the only one here in the UK without a physical Deluxe or Collectors edition. Why is that Bioware?

Well, I'm trying to get any info about the release on Brazil. Official facebook page said the Inquisitor's Edition won't be avaiable here. Mark Darrah said he doesn't have any clue about it. Mike Laidaw said to ask to local retailers. I'm pressing some big stores whose I'm used to buy games, but none of them know anything about DAI on Brazil. It's a total mess...

I wanna throw my money on Inquisitor's Edition, even with the price we get on Brazil. There is a lot of info on internet about our game's prices. Take for example the Watch Dogs Limited Edition, US$130 on US, it's R$500 here (about US$228)... No one knows even if we will be able to buy the PS4's Deluxe Edition here.

this is all so very confusing...shouldnt Bioware, EA games and GameStop be interested in earning money? Here we are, willing to throw our money at them but still no?
Should we as consumers (and PC gamers) really have to beg them to allow us to pay extra money for this game?

I'm certainly not going to beg. If EA doesn't want to sell CE in my country, and Origin is the only way to get PC version, so be it.

Yeah, I think whoever is doing communnications stuff on DA should be fired. No offical word on anything ever, creators have to be poked on Twitter to get answers. What the hell is the forum for, if not communicating to your loyal fans? You even have that totally unused News section!

/rant

Either way, I'm not trusting them. Hungary doesn't have GameStop or any affiliate, so I transferred the money and had a dear friend in the US pre-order it for me. I'm not waiting for all the PC Collector's Editions to run out, cause that's what'll happen by the time they figure what they sell and where.

Yeah, I've made sure that I have an "upgradable" preorder so as soon as word is out I will rush to GameStop to pre-order...I am weak...

But this is really bad, why can't we get any answers?
And I really want to hear WHY they didn't make a PC version of CE

Af far as I heard, they just haven't gotten it to certain places yet because 'miscommunication'. Quiet frankly though, someone needs to be fired over that. quite obvious someone, somewhere down the line can't do their job.

Here in Netherlands it is the same we do not have a Gamestop so I am not able to buy the Inquisitor edition. I am really interested in buying one I am a huge collector of these editions. Also I would like to get a PC edition of the game since I have my safefile from the previous games I want to carry on.

Thanks Bioware I know Europe does not exist for Americans.

This isn't Bioware (in the sense of the devs we know). This is EA. An exclusivity deal can't happen between the developer and retailer. It happens between the publisher and retailer, and that's EA. This is a very high level corporate decision, presumably completely removed from any development aspect entirely.

You are correct I should not blame Bioware So:

Thanks EA for forgetting about the Netherlands and clossing one of the best working marketing divisions you have so you do not have to release this awesome edition in the Netherlands.

This is pissing me off more and more.  If this edition is Gamestop exclusive, then why isn't it available in France and the Netherlands?  Gamestop owns the french chain Micromania and the dutch chain Free Record Shop (and according to Wikipedia, most were rebranded Gamestop after the takeoever).  So why do neither of these stores offer the IE?

Not only that, but I have family in the US that I could ship the game to but I can't even order the stupid thing because US Gamestop only takes american credit cards and even the stupid Paypal payment only accepts US based cards.  I'm currently in Canada and had bought the canadian version of the IE with my foreign card before my order was cancelled because they said that my info didn't match what my credit card company had on file.

They said that the billing info had to be the same as the shipping info.  My card is foreign, it's a visa, my shipping address isn't going to be in my country!!

Everybody says that it's EA's fault, but then why do issues with collector's editions seem to only happen with Bioware games?  Remember the ME3 Xbox 360 CE fiasco?  Or how about DA2 Signature edition debacle?  Now this.  How can I blame EA when I only see problems with Bioware games?  What other EA collector's edition gives so much trouble?

You know that if it wasnt for EA the deluxe edition would not even exist, right?

Bioware makes games, not merchandising. Guess where that came from...

Having an exclusivity actually makes them win more money. Having a lot of different places to sell veeeery little units, is not worth it.

Having 1 place selling them all, even if they are much less, is more profitable due to cost management, and also you have the exclusivity agreement to make up for the sale loses.

Yes, everything makes sense.

And yes, EA is the devil, and they are ONLY interested in making money, since it is just the target of their company. They dont want to make a good game like Bioware, they couldnt care less, it is not their pride, their child, their project. It is just their money for a profitable business.

Worst company strikes again! :D

Way to understand the point. The complaint isn't that it's GameStop exclusive in countries that have GameStop, it is the fact that GameStop is a retailer that covers 16 countries all over the world. What about people who live outside that zone? Not to mention that the PC version is as of yet only available in 2 of the 16 countries. You tell me which makes more business sense:

- Make the CE fully GameStop exclusive shafting worldwide fans

- Make the CE GameStop exlcusive in the 16 GameStop countries and sign exclusivity deals with other reatailers in the countries it doesn't cover

You could argue that those countries are too small markets to warrant a CE, but

#1 CEs are about making more money off of you hardcore fanbase. And alienating some of them is hardly a good business practice.

#2 If CEs of all other games are avaiable in these regions, you can hardly argue that the DA CE can't be profitable

Why not make it available in the BioWare Store with shipping only available outside GameStop cuntries? It requires literally no effort and GameStop loses no business with such a deal. Either way, there are a million profitable solutions to this problem. And bad communication and stalling is hardly one of them.

Well, maybe Gamestop covers 16 countries, but I am from Spain, there is a Gamestop, and I cannot get the Inquisitor's edition either.

So it is available in less than 16 countries! :(
