Speed isn't all that important, especially given Turian fleet tactics.
Unless you're a scout or patrol fleet.

Which I'm guessing the 8th, which has "survived more battles and led more victories than any other" isn't.
Lets not get to caught up in the ins an outs of why a certain ship would be made flagship in the mass effect universe.
Just assume that much of what they do in regards for ship naming and official designation is for morale and tradition purposes rather than pure logic, like human navies of today. And their command and control remains robust regardless.
Anyway the main point is.
In me2 Zaeed suggests the ship was a frigate,. which has a crew of about 40-70 people IIRC, which is doable if the right strategy is used to take control of the ship .he only describes it as "hell of a ship" rather than being a flagship and does not explain why the mission takes place. In space your only a few moments away from certain death at all times, so sabotaging a ship with help from the inside is fairly easy, compared to sinking an ocean going vessel which would take longer.
If its true the ship has been made a larger vessel in the comic to make the story more "epic" then we should be indeed annoyed.
oh my god this is embarrassing. as if the writers of these stupid comics aren't enough of a laughing stock already.

From the Codex: "Ship mobility dominates space combat; the primary objective is to align the mass accelerator along the bow with the opposing vessel's broadside."
Ah, the mass effect comics. Slowly creeping towards Deception territory, one issue at a time.
What was that infamous novel that came out before me2 called? the one written by the guy who had clearly no idea how technology in mass effect worked...

You mean the one where Biotics are charged by batteries? Or am I thinking of that horrible amine movie?

Thats the movie you are thinking about.

I dunno, I remember reading some thing on penny arcade about it years ago, as part of a comment on dreadful tie in fiction.
Ah Mass Effect deception... Seems there was quite a fuss about it, though I was wrong, it came out after me2, just a few months before 3. Interestingly there was a 400 page thread for that, and the endings got a 4k page thread... So mass effect 3 was 1000% more unpopular than the book?

Nice to know that Foundation is pretty much a comic version of Deception. Lol. ![]()

Slowly?
BW has always been rather sloppy/uncaring re: continuity. Nothing Walters has done matches changing Aribeth's race and backstory between NWN installments. You can find howlers in almost any franchise. Foundation isn't even particularly egregious by BW standards.
That's still not really an excuse to do what they do; It just shows that the writers are bad at the job of keeping their story consistent and logical in favor of 'rule of cool'. If anything, it's just more of a terrifying indication of where they're going to take the lore next. Unless it's Doctor Who, I'm not a fan of writers who give the impression that their own work or their predecessor's work is being changed retroactively because they feel 'artistically restrained from telling the story they want to tell' and then expect people to respect their artistic vision.

Magic A is Magic A. People are willing to suspend disbelief so long as the writers adhere to the rules that they, themselves, made up.

Indeed. The issue is when writers decide that since they are 'god' they can change the rules and lore however and whenever they want and expect fans to be perfectly alright with it. As jtav is saying, BW has a tendency to do that; Dragon Age hasn't made too many egregious issues fortunately, at least, not yet. Mass Effect I feel is a lost hope.
Doctor Who is perhaps the only fiction (and many comic book universes too I guess, like Marvel) where they can get away with it. Hell, they usually lampshade it whenever they change the lore on the show, with the Doctor always saying that something's wrong since things have changed and aren't how he remembers them due to some change or paradox or wibbly-wobbly nonsense.
Is this a joke? It's said numerous times throughout the series "no one meets the shadow broker" "no one knows his true identity" and yet he's there talking directly to Zaeed. Seriously, how did Mac f*** even that up?
See also Leliana's resurrection, retreating from Rannoch via relay, "thanix missiles" and the Cain shooting a giant bullet which behaves more like a guided missile.Indeed. And will somehow find away to bring back Shepard again for the future. Yay super Mac sucks now you see, why I think super Mac thinks Liara is the only love interest for Shepard. That's the schtick of SuperMac. Take the ME2 characters and give them a crappy, redundant, one-dimensional, or some combination of all 3 story and throw it out.
For several of them, the main character on the cover is in the issue for only about half the issue. Look at Thane's issue for example. And then, we'll get some new series after Foundation is done dedicated to filling the gap to ME4/Contact/whatever the hell they call it, and the focus will be on.... How Liara can't overcome Shepard's death in the new Synthesized world.

Commander Shepard, galactic hero.
A man/woman not alive at all in any way known to science, I mean we don't even have ashes to put in an urn, I mean he's gone totally, short of cloning him again, but that would not be the same Shepard.
Gentlewomen, we can rebuild him/her. We have the green glowing super energy, we have the capability to make the Galaxies first un-completely vaporized into pure energy man/woman.
Commander Shepard will be that man/woman
Better than he/she was before, better, stronger, faster... A little bit irritated at this point at not being allowed to rest... I mean aren't Asari meant to be able to get over the deaths of the lesser lived races and move on? I mean to do otherwise would be pretty stupid. Sorry to speculate here, I know I'm deviating from the script, but I feel as a narrator I have to get this across to the audience...
