I recently wanted to replay one of my favourite games ever, KOTOR. The only problem is that the resolution is a bit off. When I click something in the game, I always have to click a little below where I want to and everything is a bit to far to the right off the screen so that some stuff is off the screen completely.

 

I have tried loads of different solutions on the internet, but none of them work. I think the problem might be caused because from something in the settings. Whenever I go into the settings and try to change the resolution, I can't. The box where the resolutions should be listed is empty and when I click "OK", the game crashes. What do I do?

A modern wide screen system with the wrong resolution will cause that effect. You can only change resolution from the main menu ie without the game running or open the swconfig… (800X600 with 6o refresh rate and low texture pack) should work on 8 or 8.1 but windows 7 or XP will probably have older software which can handle the extra calculations that higher refresh rates require.
