The link I posted are from Gaidar.

True, but they told us we have never been part of the Qun. I'll take Bioware's word.

They never said they pc qunari never been a part of the qun. They just said they would would technically just be  called a Vashoth. He basically says it up to the individual qunari if they are tal-vashoth or not.

From a roleplaying view it would make sense if the qunari PC was never part of the qun

But saying they were or were not is just an assumption. We have no way of knowing at this point one way or another.

I always take what gaider says as hyperbole mostly because he tries to say things as neutral as possible so people can't take things he says and twist them, they do anyway but he at least tries to make it sound as innocuous as possible like how we was explaining how he hated cutting things and things always got cut no matter what.

Which is way I said we're back to not knowing anything about the Qunari inquisitor. We can only say they don't fallow the qun.

The Qunari/Kossith have no name for their people. Qunari/Kossith is/was used to define their race. Without it they simply call themselves "Vashoth" or "gray ones". Those who believe the Qun is detrimental to their people call themselves "Tal Vashoth" or "true grey ones" as they feel that being free of the Qun is the proper path for their people.

That's what i've gathered from reading through this thread.

Sounds about right. People keep saying that "vashoth" is the name for racial qunari born outside the Qun and this really seems to contradict what the devs have been saying so I was a bit confused about it.

Those of the qunari race must be seen by the Qunari as part of Qunari culture even if they were never actually part of the Qun so they are considered Vashoth and not Bas.

I always interpreted the "true grey ones" part of that as being that those who turn against the Qun rather than simply leave it are justifying their violence against former comrades and that they are trying to so say that those who just abandon the qun are hollow, without purpose, while the Tal-Vashoth are the "real" Vashoth b/c they are fighting against their former oppressors.
