Well it's not like demons are breeding so we just need to merge the two planes and commit demon genocide.
Problem solved.

Demons are not that bad, they just need a hug.

Obviously there will be three possible endings:
CONTROL the Fade
DESTROY the Fade
MERGE the real world with the Fade
Oh no not again. Don't forget the DLC where it shows you the consequences of your decisions.
Depends, will the demons give me cookies? Are they good cookies?
Am I the only one who feels this is a bit like Avatar Korra Book 2? Breaches between the two worlds. Evil spirits/demons. The threat of total annihilation/ten thousand years of darkness? A single mastermind responsible for all of this, manipulating everyone to achieve his/her goal.

I was thinking the exact same thing but didn't want to say anything. ![]()
Very tempting, but I would have to know a bit more about the consequences.

TBH, I don't quite see why anybody would. What's the benefit of having demons run rampant in Thedas?

I've always been under the impression that demons would probably just form spontaneously out of the fade, so wiping them out probably wouldn't be possible.
Of course, persecution of mages might decrease when there are hordes of abominations eating everyone anyway.
I'd love to be able to open up the veil, but I doubt we can.
Which is a shame since in one of the trailers Morrigan implied we can end the world.
i like the way morrigan thinks ha ha but if you kill demons then would leave all good spirits or would kill all spirits.
Nope. I barely like people coming into my room. Why would I want a bunch of random asshat demons into my whole planet?
Now I have this image of party animal, dudebro fratboy demons in my head. ![]()

i pick green.
...well what would be the effects?

technically they are already running rampant around thedas, but yeah close it so we can go back to fighting each other and darkspawn, demons are for mages, not real people
People got along tolerably well before the Veil was created, so I can only conclude that the time before the veil wasn't as bad as anti-magers would have me believe.
I need more information before I can decide, but speaking from an outside perspective, I think getting rid of the Veil is by far the most narratively interesting decision. I'll be very disappointed if DA:I results in a return to the status quo. What's the point in having your own IP if you're just going to keep things static anyway?

Lol, this plot was old long before Nickelodeon decided to use it. It's a pretty standard template for a fantasy story.

I'm super curious about the potential impact of such a decision on the future of the series. It almost feels like they can't offer such a choice. The world would be such a different place depending on that one decision...
They could, but then everything ends. Like with Mass Effect.
Not cool imo. I like Dragon Age - the world full of many, many stories. Not Dragon Age - "the trilogy". Screw trilogies.

Oh, I don't think they're actually going to offer a choice. It'll either be one or the other.

If that's the case, I'll just side with what you said.
"Before the Veil" amounts to more dragons and multi-classes for everyone. Not so bad, I guess. But lacking the tension and conflict we have now. Not necessarily a good thing.

Well, Dragon Age can't coast on the same conflicts forever. Even if, "realistically", bigotry is the sort of thing that never really goes away, people are eventually going to get tired of Templars v. Mages, Humans v. Elves and so on.
