Just got my call about 15 minutes ago inviting me to come to the store @ 10PM (!?!!??) tomorrow for the midnight release.

They are probably doing the same thing they've done here in NYC for midnight releases of prior games. The reason they say 10pm is they want you to go to the store and pay your balance for your copy of ME2. Then they give you a receipt and you leave the store and have to wait until midnight. You line up and wait with your receipt, walk in at midnight - hand them the receipt, they hand you the game and off you go. They do it so that the midnight launch goes quickly and doesn't get bogged down by people having to play for each copy, fumbling for change etc or trading in used games. That way you don't wind up going home with your game at 5am.

gamestop called me to confirm my preorder will be in tuesday morning for pickup.....I am pretty sure they already have it since it is marked as "streetdated" on their internal catalog (they label it like that only if it will arrive early"

oh and having worked for a gamestop years ago I can tell you that preorders work simply like this, the company monitors how many preorders each store has both online and in-store....sends a number of copies JUST for the preorder and some extras for walkins, it is up to the manager to set aside enough for the preorders ahead of time (usually they pull it up on the computer and match the preorder numbers in a separate box behind the counter....you will be fine on tuesday

Hehe, yeah I understand, just seems like an awfully long window unless you are at a super ginormous GameStop with 1000+ pre-orders.  Mine only had 130 - ish between ME2 and MAG.

I'll probably swing by around 11:30pm to queue up since I already paid off my copy and guide book in full earlier in the week.  Hopefully the weather won't be too crappy.
