Asking for a demo was done in another thread. The problems were discussed, people said what they wanted (some a playable one, some only a character creation for example) but, if there is going to be a playable demo at E3 why not make it available for download after the event?

Just think, the main problem for a demo is how much time it takes to create one, that is why some developers don't like the idea, but if one has already created for the event, it shouldn't take that much effort to make it available for download, right?

Of course, this is under the assumption that there is a playable demo at E3, which we don't know for sure yet (at least I don't). Another thing to consider is that not that many people can get to E3 out of all the fandom.

No, the main problem with demos is that they generally don't lead to increased sales but to decreased sales. A game demo has to be insanely amazing to increase sales and hardly any game is amazing nowadays partly due to higher customer expectations.

I admit I don't know how demo's are made... but it might be possible that any playable demo shown at E3 is just a modified version of the actual game. Meaning that they might not be able to release it for obvious reasons.

Yeah, Bioware probably doesn't want anyone datamining the crap out of a demo they realease. Remember Mass Effect 3's leaked demo had this problem.

That's exactly how they did it with Skyrim. And the talk about sales decreasing with a demo is completely with merit, especially considering bioware's history. Mass Effect 2's ps3 demo was so glitch I was literally unable to finish it. Which changed my mind about getting it all together until some promotion got me a free download and I was more than pleasantly surprised.

Your personal experience with demos isn't exactly evidence.

Some folks claim they have evidence to back up the thesis that demo = lost sales. I haven't looked into their methodology myself, so don't ask me if they're right.

Well you can look at from other side. If Bioware is sure Dragon Age I is a great game. A Demo is the perfect way to show it.

I would like a demo but i will buy the game annyway. So in that case for me it would not change annything

For sale's increase or decrease. Depens on quality of the demo. If the demo is realy good alot ppl will tell other ppl Specialy wit all the social media this days that would go realy fast, Not mention Online multiplayer games

For a game like DAI the only demo I'd like in advance is access to the character creator.

I can see how a gameplay demo would lead to decreased sales, especially if it had any kind of length.

When Deadrising 2 was coming out and they released Case Zero or whatever it was called, I only bought and played Case Zero and got my fill of Deadrising. Skipped on 2 and haven't been back to the franchise since.

Not exactly the same case, but a similar principle.

I want a demo, a rehash of the PAX Demo is perfect. Plenty to do and we've already seen it so it'd be perfect

The small amount of demos these days is saddening and Dragon Age could use it to win back skeptics and gain new next Gen fans since there practically nothing on PS4 and XB1 at the moment

Same. I demo would be great, but a CC is more than enough for me.
