Does the DLC ever go on sale?

I've been holding out to play Mass Effect 2 & 3 due to the exorbitantly overpriced and overabundant DLC. I'm looking to get the PC versions of the game.

Does it ever go on sale like it does on Steam?

I'm the type of RPG fan that likes to get everything in the game (I had ME1 for xbox 360 and had all the DLC and played through it about 3 separate times, and I did all the side missions and visited all the planets etc etc).

Should I just pass up the game? personally paying so much for the base game plus all the dlc seems like a complete waste of money. Even the trilogy is intentionally gimped with lack of DLC (huge disappointment).

Will BioWare never produce another Ultimate Edition like it did with Dragon Age Origins (which I bought almost immediately and played through 5 times with all classes and races).

On very rare occasions. I've seen all of ME3 DLC on sale on the Eu PSN store in the past during different sales, I'm not sure how much of a reduction it was since I already owned all of it so on my account it just shows up as already purchased without showing the price but it does occasionally go on sale. I also remember buying some ME3 DLC on the 360 back when it was on sale although I can't remember which one it was ( either Leviathan or Omega ).

It doesnt go on sale and you will have to buy the bioware points first. Making them a money sink.

Hopefully DA:I will have non-bioware points DLC

Bioware has forgotten about or abandoned the marketing and promotion of Bioware points. Until Bioware employees in charge of the points remember that the points exist, I don't expect them to go on sale. The last time Bioware points went on sale was around 2010-2011 when the Witch Hunt DLC for DAO came out. Since then, they have never gone on sale. My guess is, EA released Origin and whoever was in charge of Bioware points forgot about them.

So uh, yeah, any day now Bioware...

Wait for the next gen console re-release, I would imagine they will have all the dlc.

Sure, why not, I did. ME3 killed the whole entire trilogy for me, there is no point in replaying these games considering how they end.

That's working under the assumption that they will be re-released on next gen and that all the DLC will be included with these re-releases. It would be the right thing to do but I doubt it will happen.

Why would it not happen, did Bioware stop liking money?

and didn't someone already say that they were thinking about it?

Well, that's kinda sad to hear -- Was contemplating on getting the DA2 DLC's for the PC version too. Might still do that when I got money to spare.

If it does happen, I would be very careful. Everyone assumes that rereleases on newer generation equipment will be remastered in some way. That has rarely been the case through the history of video games. The majority are ported , emulated and invest more in marketing then in facelifting the product.

Besides, none of the rerelease done to date for ME3 have everything in them as of yet, and I've lost track of how many times its been repackaged

I could understand remastering Mass Effect but 2 and 3 don't really need it, do they?

I learnt this lesson the hard way earlier this year. I kept my 360 ( instead of trading it in to help pay for my PS4 ) for the sole reason of playing Fable Anniversary. All that talk and hype about how much time and effort went into re-mastering it and it was rubbish, the original game on Xbox live was better than the remastered version.

I would tend to agree, however I could understand people with 4K feeling differently. And I don't think anyone would mind it if controls managed to get smoothened out for all of them. Which again, requires more work then new 70-100 dollar box art.

True. The first game has not aged well at all.
