Before having the option to remake your character's appearance later, I think they need to make a Character Creator where you can load into a preview cell/test cell before actually confirming. That way you can see the character in different light, in motion, and at more angles.

Other than that, Definitely minor editor, Hair, skin tones, scars and makeup. I doubt the timescale of DA:I will justify age in the same context as DA2 or a game like Mount&Blade: Warband. The events of Inquisition probably last less than a year.

Full overhaul? not a particular fan of it, but I can just not use it.

I can see the case for only wanting to do cosmetic stuff once you're playing. But wouldn't it be easier for Bio to just put the full editor in-game rather than work up some subset for aging and whatnot? Players who don't want to touch the sliders for anything else wouldn't have to.

This is one of those options that are wonderful options, especially for console gamers that get that itch for change but can't type in some kind of PC-command to make the creator pop up.

Perhaps anyone that doesn't like it for omg:realism should just, oh I dunno, refrain from using it?

Actually, on the topic of aging... do we know how long the game is set to take place?

Why not? It's not like it'd be forced on us; those who want to do it can, and those who don't don't have to.

I'll personally be quite surprised/disappointed if they decide not to add a Black Emporium style mirror to the final game. A lot of people, myself included, really liked the feature and it's not like it was a necessary feature.

Changing hair and makeup sounds good.

I'm talking something similar like the mirror of transformation in the black emporium.

I would like to change my PC's hairstyle and make-up because those are the things that you could do in real life and I enjoy changing those things.

Only if it worked. In the Black Emporium, you could at least use the reasoning that Varric is changing his story, but it wouldn't really work in Inquisition. Maybe minor changes, but nothing too big. So, yeah, like make-up and whatnot, that sounds fine.

I really want this. I've lost count the amount of times I've created a character in DA:O, think it looks good, only to find out 5 seconds into the game said character looks pants and is swiftly deleted only to be re-created...

Whilst I don't mind if DA:I does or does not have the option to change facial features mid game, I would really like the option of changing hair, beard and make up options. It would be more realistic to be able too change those three mid game especially if the game partly set in Orlais.

This happens to me all. the. time. I'm happy on CC.. then give it an hour or so to see different angles or reactions. And, usually, there'll be that one moment where I go "OH GOD THE ANGLE. ____ IS ALL WRONG." and I have to restart.  It's frustrating and I sometimes just have to force myself to suck it up and trudge on.  Although it's still really tempting if I'm <10 hours in.  It's a problem hahaha

And +1.  I'm also the kind who likes to change up my appearance based on how I feel/think I should look at that point in the story. Scruffier when it's hard work time and cleaned up for important meetings.  :P

I don't care if it is realistic, I want to be able to change how I look. As far as everyone else in the game is concerned this is how I always looked; the only one that knows is me, the player.

This would be fine, if the CC showed how your character looks like in-game, it does not. Your character might look fine, but 90% chance in game it will look horrible, this was why the mirror was great, if you messed up you did not have to restart the whole game and watch the intro(ME2 anyone?) Unless the CC is so amazing that we can do all angles, test lighting ect there should be an option to change how they look in game, if you don't like there is a option to do it.

Don't use it, very simple.

Yes to this, if DA2, kingdoms of Amalur and Skyrim can do it, I don't see why Inquisition can't. I don't really make my own faces though, just a preset with a change of hairstyle and colour typically, as anytime I've tried to create a custom character they always end up looking fugly as heck.

I'd like to visit Dr. Anders' Plastic Surgery Emporium -- I'm sure my femquiz, after she scrapes the funds together, will want a b00b job.

Seriously, I have done the multiple restarts because I wasn't happy with how my character looked in-game, and I think the mirror in Black Emporium was a great help.

It is funny though usually I find I like the way my Female characters look after I get them in game and they only need minor alterations, aside from the aforementioned darkening of the skin, but for my Male characters it usually takes me a while to get right.  It took me three trys with my Bro Shepard to do it right, played the entire game with him, then when I reimported changed him up majorly, he looked like something out of Donkey Kong. :P My Cousland though I got looking exactly right the first time.  Except for maybe an overbite...poor devil.

....you could do this in Skyrim?

Yeah, I think it was available with dawnguard dlc. You have someone who can alter your looks.

Yeah, a face sculptor appears in the ragged flaggon in riften and you pay 1000 gold to change appearance.

I would like to be able to change my hair and makeup/tattoos! Mostly my hair because if they still have the long hair clipping through armor and weapons (mostly bothered me in DA2 then in DAO) I don't want to have to start the game over, just to give her a shorter hairstyle!

I can honestly say **** realism on this. Yeah it's 'makes sense' not to do it, but face creation is never the same as seeing your face in game. And the amount of instant 'well its screwed up, restart' immedately upon the first cut scene has always bugged me in past games. I was happy in DA2 I was able to just ignore it till I could change it. So yeah, I'd like the option to change it and I don't care how in lore that option is.
