I guess people are getting bored...

Bioware needs to reveal something soon or otherwise we will start to judge these pics pixel by pixel

I guess we're running out of "possible LI's" threads

Pixel by pixel on pictures. Maybe a little criticism on marketing strategies.

So the "F" section is a part of a 3D skybox, and before I got to the edge of the level (via a detached flycam) where I could confirm it was not genuinely terrain, I had traveled a few kilometers in the game (according to the editor, that spot on the mountain range is a bit more than 4km away) and looking back at the keep , LOD had actually despawned it because it was so far away.

It is the same mountain range as the ones on the left (the farthest ones obviously).

I see no problem with the w the t or the f.  Distance plus heat or dust = lower rez and a wash out look for F.  If it was a cystal clear high res image being 4 clicks sway with the thing sin between that cause visual distortion it would look goofy.

The spikes bother me way more that the W or F does. Simply because that was a conscious decision by someone who thought they looked cool =/

I like the spikes. demons, dragons, archdemons look out. Plus it's probably Tervinter(sp) and spikes are scary and oppressive.

The game looks awesome. I dont care if there are such minor glitches or if that image is an illusion or not.

Please Bioware, dont waste a single minute in that and focus on creating more content, more dialogue, more well written story and lore, more relations and development of the characters. You know, what made me become a fan of you.

This aint a pretty shallow movie, this is a deep & well written game.

I don't get BW's obsession with putting random spikes everywhere but the rest looks fine imo.

I guess the spikes are there to keep dragons from swooping. As we all know "Swooping is bad"

As for the spikes, I just hope there's some sort of explanation in the game. They seem to be too prominent a feature to not have any. I'm sensing a story here.

Neither Weakstation 4 or XBone come with solid state storage so they're probably running early builds from HDDs to mimic those conditions.

Long access times + low reading speeds + a engine that relies heavily on streaming = weird things.

Your right, but the ps4 can easily have one put in. The hard drive is very easy to replace compared to alot of the other consoles and some computers.

Some of these posts are kind of pathetic, in a grasping-at-anything-to-discredit-the-game-or-it's-designers kind of way. Particularly since these are just a couple stills (lol at the "immersed in screenshots" thing). Yeah, we get it, you don't like spikes or LOD textures.

Move along people. Nothing to see here.

Someone at marketing is either very lazy or just doesn't understand what they're supposed to be doing.

Putting something like this

*snip*

up on your official site is laughable.

They're not marketing the game by that image so your point is moot.

It is immersion breaking for me if the visual quality is not consistent. This game has some pretty amazing lighting but it's marred by low poly meshes and textures with terrible UVW mapping. You're right, I will get used to it when playing the actual game, but for now stuff like these really bug me. Along with those godawful spikes.

The spikes are a frequent castle feature--they're to prevent people from scaling the wall easily.  The trouble is they made them too big and too far apart so you could just sling a lasso up there and actually *use* the spike to *assist* you in climbing the wall.  Bigger spike != more effective spike.

Ok no. Just no.

I've been a full supporter for this game since the Pax footage a year ago, but the people complaining in this thread have a good point. I don't care that this is Alpha footage, you cannot tell me that even in Alpha footage that cannot simply get 1 screenshot where there's no clipping/glitching. Bioware I love what you've done with the game so far, but for the future, please try to look over your Promo materials before you actually release them. The picture in the OP isn't a big deal to me and it comes across as nitpicky, but things like hands clipping through rocks/staff is kinda facepalm worthy.
