I had the random urge to make something for NWN this weekend. Still a bunch more textures to create, but is anyone interested in seeing more of this style?

I like the TNO city reskin you did, but this looks good too. Lets see it!

That is one that I reckon would look really neat with the alleys in it

I like that it's not super-different from the original city textures, but different enough to freshen up the tileset.

<trying to look...>

Oh, I don't know...

Not shabby enough...

I'm sure it hasn't been hit properly with enough bricks...

Certainly not bland enough...

Barely see any pixelation...

Can't be *too* expensive...

Wait. Is that a *flaw*...?! Over there! Look!

*grabs*

*sprints away gleefully*

*opens his loot-sack when safe at HQ*

*stares in dismay at the lonely little screenshot that's the only thing he grabbed*

*starts plotting*

this, if you wouldnt replaced the cobble with dirt it could be treated not as a reskin but a high quality replacement, since of that dirt it feels like a village/poor city instead which is not bad, but different and i wouldnt use it for my rich city for example.

good work anyway

That's a good point. I couldn't find a cobble texture that I liked for there, but maybe it's worth another go. We've got other tilesets that can do the dirt floored city already.

Let's have a vote! Ay or nay, to cobble floor! :P

It looks good; no obvious tiling patterns in the textures and most of it works well together. The one element I might be tempted to alter is the metal gate at the lower right. It has a vaguely rusty veneer but it looks a little too clean and tidy. Some vertical streakiness on the flat metal surfaces might help.

<channeling his inner...>

How about something a little different?

Like old roman roads? Bigger slabs of stone with a high crown...

Otherwise... I'd say nay, actually. Give me dirt and let me populate it with puddles and garbage :-P

i like cobble as an alternative to your other work, Six. I like your dirt in your lat city reskin, but it would be worth while to see a nice cobble with lots of wear. One reason i think this way is that the material in the wok is stone anyway. So if this is a straight up texture replacement, using cobble works better.

i like the dirty stones a lot. Not sold yet on the larger river rock looking cobbles. Maybe reduce the size of those stones. A finer size would be more elegant for the walkways. And less bumpy to walk on. :)

great work! perhaps darker wooden beams for the buildings, and the cobble on the bridge?

 keep it up I would love to use this for my next project!

I like the main cobble texture in your screenshot, Six.  I like it very much.  Not quite as sure about the building terrain floor texture - it's nice, but it pops out maybe a bit too much, in my opinion.  I think that, on the whole, floor textures shouldn't stand out.

Brings to mind the last time I was in Oxford. Not a kind experience for my feet.

Definitely do need to tone down those anyway.

Looking good; the irregular, curving transition breaks up the ground patterns nicely. I can almost see the slop being tossed out the windows...

Cobble street looks good - maybe shrink the stone in size just a tad more (maybe 75% of what it is now). Not very fond of the sidewalk texture. Its really jumps out at you when viewing the shot. What if you went with something like this:

Well _six,

that big "cobble" texture you used in your latest ss looks more likely to be found in a river. The big rocks are very rounded.... I mean both textures you used there are way to "round" to be usefull as cobble. How are people supposed to walk there... not to imagine when it is raining or a fully loaded wagon is used on it... hehe clonk :D  and Katoom :D :D

But the first texture, the grey bluish one is realy good. Looks great in close up and zoomed out :)

But how someone like you realy want to "retexture" that damned old city is beyond me... the city expansion you did long ago was and still is the best around. But maybe you are just in the mood to test textures... ;)
