I heard that Gaider wants to blow up Orzammar and Kal-Sharok.

Anyway, yeah it looks like Dwarfmance might be off the table again.

No Dwarfmance  :crying: ....*sighs and gets out step stool* Well I am prepared for who ever the male LI's are (besides cullen  )!

I'm still clinging to the faint hope that Dagna is a romancable NPC, given that she is supposedly the inquisition's artificer.

This.  ^_^

I have a feeling most of the LIs will be human like Origins was, save for the possibility of Sera (and maybe Solas).

Have no fear there is bound to be a Drawf or two in a brothel. So just headcanon your Inq being in a romance with a dwarf from there and rescueing he/she from that life. There is your romance.

Those characters had some funny lines.

I love Dragon Age dwarves, and I love Varric specifically. My first PC is going to be a dwarf and it would be nice not to need a step ladder for a change.

The casteless dwarf origin is honestly my favorite playthrough.  I really love dwarven culture.  I think there's so much untapped potential there.  Varric doesn't even touch on that, because he was born topside, but his personality alone is enough reason for me to love him.

Honestly, I find it strange that not much has been done with dwarves since Origins, since they seemed so interesting.

Not gonna lie, every time one of these topics comes up and people start going either pro-dwarf or anti-dwarf, this song gets stuck in my head:

"Short people got nobody
Short people got nobody
Short people got nobody
To love..."

I don't know. My friend has a theory, though, that only the companions with scars are LIs, so if you've got a scar, you're shaggable. Her theory's just about as good as any on BSN, really. Not that I believe her, but to play along a bit: the only scarred companions I've seen are Varric, Iron Bull, Cassandra, and Solas. Vivienne appears flaw-free and there's not a good enough close-up of Sera, "Dorian," or Blackbeard to tell whether they've got 'em or not. Cole? Just... no.

In the end, it's just a crazy theory, anyway, but what's BSN without a crazy theory every now and then, no?

As for whether I'd approve of a Varricmance... yes, yes, I would. My eventual dwarf Inquisitor isn't attracted to humans, qunari, or elves, so if Varric is unavailable, she'll probably remain single and just end up in a bromance with the guy. Girls can have bromances, right? Or is it just a guy thing? I'm not caught up on today's lingo to know either way. Were "bromances" even a thing way back in the 80s?

Musings of a Random Bioware Artist: "Why am I suddenly getting bombarded with requests to add a facial scar to Sera?"

As far as I can tell people just want to **** everything that moves.... elves and humans have been covered so now they want dwarves and qunari, not that they didn't before.

How charming.

Or, it could be that some people happen to find dwarves attractive and would like the chance to romance one.

At this point I would take another dwarf comapnion. Yes, I know there is Varric but you can never have enough dwarves! I really liked the casteless dwarves myself as well and it is rather unfortunate Bioware has yet to revisit them. If it were not for the fact that Dwarves cannot be mages I'd play one during my first go of Inquisition.

Though to pertain to the topic I wouldn't shun a romanacable dwarf. I just haven't found too many romances I happened to like. Still, I think one is a bit overdue.

I mentioned this before how I have a cousin who is a little person who takes this issue very personally. To paraphrase something he has said to me, "For all Bioware goes on about equal representation in their games and in their romanceable content, they can't manage one Dwarf? The world is ready for LGBTQ romances but not a Dwarf romance!?" He also says he'd romance Varric, though he's a true Sigrun fanboy.

Excellent point.  There are real people in the world who resemble dwarves, we can't show them more love?  Personally, I also wish to see more female dwarves because they don't fit into the usual tall and slender body type.  And short men don't get enough love, either.  Basically, I think there are a lot of people who could relate to dwarves, if they weren't always reduced to nothing but drunken oafs in media.

Varric and Sigrun were both excellent characters who broke the stereotype.  I'm so sad that Sigrun was never a romance option.

He has mentioned this. That all too often in fantasy and historic media little people/dwarves are only drunken fools/jesters/comedic relief and just a cheap laugh.

I'm not a short person or anything, and I still like dwarves. It has nothing to do with that for me.

Their culture just has a certain charm. In a way, they're kind of the "Americans" of Thedas. Not just for the accent though. They just fit some of the "enterprising" stereotypes of America. Especially during the industrial age.

Varric made dwarves interesting for romance.  Tyrion Lannister made it a must have LOL!  But of all the characters shown so far Varric is the only one I am interested in since I liked him best in DA2 and wanted to romance him there. Hope he is.  That will make it even more interesting when I purchase the game on sale.

To me playing as a dwarf is just fun. When I think about dwarves and their crude manner, I can't help but laugh!
