This keeps happening to me repeatedly, and I can't seem to figure out a way around it.  In fact, I've restarted this game at least 3 times from the beginning, each time encountering the same problem.

After the Solace Glade encounter and talking to Lord Nasher to be given leave to investigate (by leaving Blacklake back to the Docks so I can pick up the rest of my party that I need), I get moved to Sydney Natale's Sanctum for a cutscene that doesn't fire, presumabily the one that deals with the summoning/creation of her plot-specific target.

Now, I can easily access a nearby area transition marker, but all of the places on the map are from Act 1 (Skymirror is available, for example), but Port Llast and other locations I need are missing.  Is there a command I can use to fire the cutscene properly, or to make the locations I need appear on the map, or am I just out of luck completely?

go to your Save game folder and search globals.xml, open in a text editor, for "00_nAct"

The value should correspond to whichever Act the save was made in ...

sometimes it doesn't click over to Act 2 quite right. If you want, and can give me detailed information about what you need, we can probably set things up. But it's a lot easier if Act 2 just kicks in properly.

what Saves do you have ?

I've looked in my Globals on both a 'fresh started' Act 2 save, and my auto save.  Both of them have  00_nAct value set to 2.  I also have a save prior to the end of Act 1 (checked its 00_nAct, it's set to 1, so that's at least right).

Basically, what I need is to either have that cutscene fire properly (the one with Syndey talking to Johcris about the elemental summoning), or skip it to get back to the Sunken Flagon before leaving Neverwinter to go to Port Llast for the first time.

ok,

So ... basically your game hangs at the beginning of the Sydney/Johcris cutscene? And PC is left staring at them while they stare blankly at each other? That is, they don't even start talking?

try this,

Make sure you're controlling your truePC before getting railroaded ushered into Sydney's Sanctum. Then drop down the console and fire this off

`
debugmode 1
rs ga_start_convo("Johcris", "20_cs_johcris_na", 0, 0, 1, 0)
debugmode 0
`

if that doesn't work, this is the variable that needs to be set:

rs ga_global_int("20_bPlayedJohcrisNatale", "1")

and this should pop PC back to the regular plot:

rs ga_jump_players("wp_from1017_to2001", 1, 0)

( those last two are contained in the conversation itself )

[edit] might not fix the worldMap, yet tho

No luck on either commands.  I suppose I should say that when I move, I'm 'stuck' in a 4x4 (roughly) room with nothing but an area trasition point, my PC, Sand, and Shandra.  The rest of the map is pretty much all black, like unexplored locations.

I'm starting to wonder if this is a mod conflict.  I might have to reinstall a fresh game (because I have no idea what I've added into my override folder after all this time) and see if this continues to happen, then peg the issue, or something.

sounds like you're in one of the debug areas.

I think your re-install idea sounds pretty good at this point. (especially since the bug is consistent: 3 times, eh)

You might want to back up your Documents\NwN2 folder, or whatever you may wish to keep from it first. (i forget if it overwrites Docs,..)

ofc you could try removing mods &tc. but that might turn out to be shenanigans. don't forget to update to v1.23 and also ensure Dx9.0c is in

Just updating this thread for a follow-up.  I've made it back to the point in the game that kept bugging out on me and have finally progessed past that point.  Seems a reinstall was just what I needed.
