So what will it be to sacrifice or to not sacrifice is the question.
What if your favorite companionn died would sacrifice another compaion to bring him/her back.

Do you mean bring them back as a zombie like what happened to Leandra?

Ya how would killing one companion bring the other one back, besides through a form of blood magic?

Oh now this is an interesting idea. Nice thought OP. For me I think it depends. If the person who was to be sacrificed was older and would therefore experience less life, then yes, but even then only if they gave consent. And if given the option my inquisitor would make the sacrifice instead of another companion.

I didn't even sacrifice Isolde for Connor's sake. Fat chance I'd do it for an even lesser reason.
I don't know. "Sacrifice" seems pretty.... Bronze Age to me. Not classy.

I kinda like how Wynne went out for Evangeline in Asunder. Is that what you mean? I'd rather that kind of thing happen outside the game, just like it did in this case.

I'm confused now. I don't know if the OP means an "Ashley/Kaiden" type of scenario or some freaky blood magic Leandra thing.

Hmm interesting question...To be honest,I think that it would probably cheapen the story, since I don't see them killing a character, especially a companion, unless their sacrifice plays an important role in the plot and their character arc.
So yeah I probably wouldn't do it,since resurrecting them by sacrificing another companion would kind of cheapen it.

If my favourite companion died they would be dead, there is no bringing someone back from dead. Though I've seen people say Necromancy will do that, I'd just add that they're wrong, Necromancy might allow you to raise skeletons from the corpses of dead men but that's about as far as it's going.
Now on to the sacrifice part, yes, 100%, I would sacrifice any companion/NPC to save my LI, when I play a BioWare game the LI becomes the most important character for that PC, take them on every mission, talk to them every chance I get etc, even if someone(based on the little bit of info we have probably Iron Bull in DA:I) is MY favourite companion in the game, they won't be equally important to my Inquisitor, and their LI will come out ahead.
Adding on to the sacrifice point, I don't know what I would do if the ending choice came down to me or my LI.

With this OP's track record, I'm thinking freaky blood magic thing, probably made extra gruesome for "fun"...

no as they were before they died not a zombie.

If I knew that my fav companion was to die and only way to prevent it was to go route that leads death of other companion or two.. I'd do that. But sacrificing someone so that someone else to come back to life, well it depends on my Inquisitors since all aren't that nice but generally I wouldn't do that. Only if the "sacrifice" would beg it and have some good reason to do so (like Isolde and Connor) I could do that but not only for bringing my fav back to life.

If you mean a Kaidan/Ashley type scenario, that would be cool,or choosing to do something that I know will lead to another characters death but it will save my fav character, I'd be fine with that, but bringing them back from the dead by sacrificing someone seems a bit shady/lore breaking to me.

Depends on who they were and how they died. I think that the heroic sacrifice should be honored and it would be improper to revive someone for selfish reasons.
If they were murdered or I found their death unjust...maybe?
But I've never been keen on raising the dead, it never seems to work out well.
If it's a Kaidan/Ashely thing then sure why not. Bring it on.

depends.
- in what conditions this "favorite" character died?
you see this question is rather important one. was it his choice? was it your mistake? what right do you have to make such call?
besides by context i have a feeling that person you want to sacrifice in order to bring other person back is not aware of your intensions.

Shepard was also dead and revived in ME 2. Seemed to have worked well, at least in ME 2.

im sacrificing cullen to bring back cassandra.... and if i cant sacrifice cullen, then i will sacrifice anyone i can to get cassandra back and then im on the road to bioware's office to give them the business for not letting me sacrifice cullen, and for them killing off cassandra in the first place.... bastards

depends. on first PT i usually miss some of the companions and the moment i met them i already know what my dream team is and i pretty much stick to them. if one of my chosen ones actually died, i'd sacrifice anyone to bring her/him/it back in a heartbeat.
the choice is made basing mostly on their personality, not their class/skills since those could always be tweaked to match my style - in da:o's 1st PT i always had Oghren, Sten and Shale in my party, playing mage myself. in da2 Isabela, Varic and Carver/Aveline. in both games i'd sacrifice any other NPC to keep them alive.
since i haven't the slightest idea who inquisitor's companions are (they are still too vague for my tastes to make that decision yet), i cannot tell who is my favourite.

No.
Also realistically why would anyone follow an Inquisitor that played favorites? He (or she) would be a very poor leader, if willing to sacrifice one companion to bring back another.

the ash/kaiden thing i would do. also if it was a blood magic type ritual, i'd eventually do that also, because i'd want to live threw all options in my fave game eventually.
