It would be cool to have some natural disasters in the game, to make it more realistic ![]()
Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Floods, Mudslides, Fires, Avalanches, Tsunami, etc

Don't know how well that would translate into the game. Those would be rather large events that don't do well with the microcosmos of combat/exploration in this genre, so those would probably be limited to prerendered cutscenes and maybe some scripted events during quests.
Wouldn't mind it of course.

That makes me think of Tropico. ![]()
While I'd be happy with rain, fog, blowing sand, etc.; major disasters could seem a bit heavy-handed. But I wouldn't complain about differing weather patterns.

Tangible combat effects however would be a nice thing, say heavy fog/rain reduces archery effectivity (slower rate of fire as the character takes more time to acquire targets and reduced accuracy due to inhibited sight), heavy rain could reduce stamina and fortitude for warriors (slippy ground is difficult to manouvre and exhausting), whereas nimble rogues take less penalties. A thunderstorm could increase casting times for spells as the mage has to concentrate harder to blur out distractions and spells like Winter's Grasp or Fireball can change the ground (one makes it glitchy where combatants can slip, or singe the wet ground to dry it up, making it easier for your warriors to fight on burnt soil).

How about a spell from a mage that creates a tornado that eliminates the enemy? Similair to what a singularity does in ME

Well, I expect at least one sandstorm based on the trailer.

They've confirmed blizzards, thunder storms and sandstorms but i think thats the extent of it. Id love more and i think it would fit great with the exploration/survival aspects but with no mention of such mechanics, i doubt they'll be included

Like DD's maelstrom spell...
I'm not familiar with the game, but your gif would be nice to have in the game.

That would be awesome for a spell casting for mages! I can see it now.... Templars flying around for dear life ![]()

DD as in Dungeons and Dragons or Dragons Dogma?
It would increase the enjoyment of the game to have random weather events. From normal rain showers to thunderstorms

Only downside to that spell is the enormous casting time! You're standing there waving your staff in the air preparing the spell for ages. But if you manage to unleash it in time, it is veeeeeeeery cool. ![]()

Casting times seem to be less of a problem since it looks like from last year's gameplay video, you go into casting time first then select where the spell spits out for an immediate area smackdown

I recall a previous thread on this topic. The problem with such a devastating event, it would have to be acknowledged in some way. The town would disappear, or all the foliage would vanish for weeks if it happened in the wilderness. You can't just have a tsunami and have no effect on the environment.
