Funny.

Although, I guess, technically you really can worship devils in DA. Maybe it's accurate. ;)

Hmm, true enough.  Considering the characters I've played in both Skyrim and Dragon Age,  I guess her efforts to shield me from worshiping the devil were in vain

I don't take Wynne to Ostagar anymore on the strength of that flirty talk. She is grandmotherly (intrusively so) and headmistress and hearing about people she's bedded is creepytime. I do RtO now before going to the circle.

BTW I luv my gran :)

LOL, I found that incredibly creepy for her to do with Alistair as well, considering that he sees her as a "surrogate mother."

To be fair, Justice was never all that bad; he was just caught up in a world he doesn't fully comprehend, but insisted that he had no real desires of his own, other than wishing to avenge the body he occupied by killing darkspawn, presumably forever. It's too bad he was corrupted by Anders. I would have preferred that Justice simply leave for the Deep Roads and just continue to kill darkspawn until he was finally destroyed. Speaking of which, it's funny how Anders wigs out, goes into his Justice/Avatar state, and sets demons on you if you take him to the Deep Roads in DA2: Legacy.

I don't believe that Anders corrupted Justice, I believe that Justice corrupted Anders, or rather influenced him where the mages and templars are concerned. Because if you recall Anders had NO desire to fight the system but just run away from it, until Justice whispered in his ear, making Anders go hmm maybe your right, so then when Justice went into Anders, he was then corrupted by his own doing by influencing anders in the beinging, weather it was intentional or not i can not say, but i would trust pre-possesed anders before trusting a spirit from the fade.  I think Justice was just a more intelligent demon which is what sets spirits and demons apart, but still just as self serving.

I suppose it's splitting hairs, since a spirit such as Justice really should not exist in the mortal world, and as a single entity, Anders and Justice are a hazard.

Wynne reminds me of a close friend of mine about the same age as Wynne. Ironically, when we play D&D, she acts just like Wynne towards my Bard character....And she's our party's healer.

Wynne is slain by me in my canon run, but I've played with her alive in other saves, and I did come to like her.

I do not much agree with her on anything, but get where she's coming from and respect it.

It just kind of struck how different DA2 is in comparison. Everyone's going on about duty and sacrifice in DAO. Wynne's not the only one.

DA2 is a relief really. Anders is about the only who wants you to live up to some things, but.. you know.. screw him. He doesn't bother me like DAO companions. I feel more confident that he's full of sh*t. The truth is, people like Wynne give me pause. Is she right? Maybe she is.

This one weighs heavily on my shoulders *sigh*. For YEARS I have wanted to make a truly Evil playthrough, and I never manage to do it. I want to do everything that makes everyone hate me, I want to be a real psycho. And then, when I start the game I can't do it. I want to pee on Andrastes ashes, be a total jerk to my party and kick the dog. And then when I try I just can't do it. I find it so hard to roleplay this particulary game. In this game I am always me, and I would not pee on Andrastes Ashes.

I really have to man-up and just do it!

Even I haven't got that much low approval on him, but now I wish to. I hate that he tries to use Duncan as a shining example. Duncan was forced into the Grey Wardens because he murdered one of them. The Commander put him through the Joining because she hoped he would die. Then Duncan ran away multiple times, until he finally resigned himself.

In the character's defense it is possible that Bioware hadn't yet decided on that backstory for Duncan. That scene was written before the books, when Duncan might have been viewed as a devoted Warden from start to finish.

Me too, I have tried to start that kind of game 3 times..twice with elves, once with a dwarf. Can't seem to do it either.

Fair point. But he's still deluded about the Grey Wardens. He doesn't view them as "grey", but "white", if you will.

Even Gaider intends these kind of varied opinions though. His latest blog says as much.

"You can love Alistair for being earnest, idealistic, and awkward. You can hate Alistair for being a stubborn, dense man-child. These qualities exist at the same time together, just as with real people. I enjoy writing Alistair and appreciate him as a character even though sometimes he is an assh*le, incapable of self-reflection. It doesn’t bother me if someone picks out the negative more than the positive—it means I was successful in putting it there, and people are going to respond to such things differently."

On the Wynne note, it was interesting to see her in my last playthrough. I sided with mages, and let her live -- but I didn't recruit her. She still showed up in Awakening, but more like a distant admirer. She still knew I was a mage from the Circle, but we weren't close. It was a nice touch. I liked her like this.

I've done an evil playthrough before, but I still couldn't kill Dog.  That's where I draw the line.

My murder elf kills the dog. I was disappointed that the kennel master didn't seem more upset about it. Even the guy that was guarding the deserter was indignant about him stabbing the guy.

Like: Morrigan, Sten, Socrates (Dog)

Dislike: Zeveran, Oghren

Deal with: Alistar, Wynne, Leliana, Shale

I wish there was a way to kill Oghren. I hope future Bioware games allows us the choice to choose or kill off any companion.

I already seen the vid. If you win the fight he submits I think or leaves. He and Morrigan are the only characters that cant be killed off from the game. Out of all the romances in both Mass Effect & Dragon Age Universes, Morrigan's the best. I still like to pretend DA2 never happened, is either a dream the Grey Warden is having or is Hawke's personal Hell.

Edit: I lied about Oghren. He might be able to die in Awakening if you leave him at the Keep and it falls to the darkspawn. Im unsure.

DA2 did happen. Pretending won't change that ;)

But yeah, Oghren can die under certain conditions in DAA.

It's funny meeting "Ines" in Awakening. I just recently played DAA and was reminded of her. If I had a choice of an "old woman" in my group, that'd be it. She pretty much sums up everything I think about Wynne.

You can definitely kill Oghren, but only after completing A Paragon of her Kind. From the Test!Moira Does Stuff For Science! folder:

dead_oghren_zps528d0bc7.jpg

Lower his approval to -100. Like other companions in that state, he'll initiate his Crisis confrontation when spoken to. By choosing the most provocative dialogue options - IIRC, you have to call him a coward; other options may intimidate him back into line - the confrontation will escalate to combat. Fight him. Defeat him. Then talk to him again. Choose the dialogue option with the <kill him> notation, and attack him. Oghren won't even attempt to defend himself. (Probably because he knows he has DAA plot armour. /snark)
