When I saw mass effect, I was suddenly instrested in it. The title of the game pulled me in. Simple, intelligent, that is a great title for a SCI-FI game if not the best. MASS EFFECT. And I grew up watching SCI FI stuff, so I was even more intrested when I found out there were aliens in the game. That is how I got into ME. Oh did I mention that I didn't preorder the limited edition. I went to gamestop to buy ME limited edition.(I was not into gaming that much so I didnt know i had to preorder limited edition stuff) One of those guys said that I had to preorder the limited edition, but fortunately, someone cancelled the limited edition order, so I bought it. Lucky me. :)

Mass Effect was my first real Bioware title. I remember seeing an old video and saw Shepard making choices and yelling at Garrus and I was like this game looks pretty cool. So I rented it and loved it a year later I actually bought it. After that became my favorite 360 game I knew I had to buy ME2 day one.

I've been a Bioware fan for a long time. That it was a new Bioware project was more than enough to get me interested and a day-1 purchase.

I got into it because it was a Bioware game...that was all I needed to know to look forward to it.

What got me interested in Mass Effect?

KotOR (first noticed BW) and Jade Empire (became large fan of BW). After those two, I look forward to every BW game.

I was so excited for Assassin's Creed that I asked my friend not to spoil anything for me because I had to go to Washington for a week and couldn't take my 360. He ended up spoiling the whole game for me. Well after that, I had lost all interest in Assassin's Creed so I went to target and bought ME on a whim. Popped it in when I got home and instantly got hooked. So thanks, **** friend!

Got interested in Dragon Age and saw that the blood armor that I got with the game would carry over to ME2, I then got curious about the first game in the series and the rest is history.

Premise of the game itself. Humans in space. Aliens. Mystery to solve. RPG mixed with shooter.

I bought the X360 with Gears of War 2, following a friend's recommendation. Then he asked me (er, begged) to trade GoW2 for one of his games, cause he loved the series so much, and he game me a number of options from his games list. I was curious about Mass Effect, but I had read mixed reviews so I didn't know what to expect. But I got to keep ME - which wasn't one of my friends favourites, he hadn't even finished it - and as I started playing it I was amazed. And it's been the game I've replayed the most and my favourite ever. So now I can't wait to get my hands on ME2. Leaving for outer space this tuesday ladies and gentlemen.

I played it by my cousin's house and was impressed so i went out and bought it.  Unfortunately I didn't know how to play the game correctly at the time, and i had a biotic character and quit at the noveria boss fight because i didn't know how to utilize his biotic powers so i just stopped playing for a while.  A couple of months later i decided to start the game fresh with a soldier character and i just got addicted.

the very first trailer with the samarian bar tender in the casino, that view of the normeandy and the citadel outside had me hooked 2 years before the game even came out.

Honestly, no idea, I think it was some trailer I downloaded of XBL a week or two before release entirely on a whim.

I read a bit about it in GameInformer before that, but not enough to have learned anything about it.

I heard it was an RPG and when I saw it at Target for $20 I decided, why not? So I was pretty late and didn't really like it, and it still doesn't impress me. But I'm fairly confident in the sequel.
