Hey all!  In an effort to keep EA from closing our group (since they seem very anti-consumer...next year I will vote for them for sure in the Golden Poo awards) due to "lack of game discussion", I am opening this thread.  I would really be sad to see our group destroyed by such an idiotic policy, especially after all the great conversations we've all had over the years together on BSN.  By all means, please post anything coversational about Dragon Age 3 that you want to discuss.

Oh my!  What cool images on facebook Bioware keeps posting!  A desert scene?!  I'm sure you all get the picture on this.

Anyone already planning on their race?  I don't intend to purchase this game new (I've been screwed by EA too many times.  If they make a Mirror's Edge 2, I might be willing to purchase again), but I suppose if I were to play the game on release day, I would probably play as an elf.  Yep.  Elven mage is my personality type.  Anyone else?

I've been on media blackout due to not wanting spoilers. I haven't even watched E3 things. I am super excited based on what my friends have said. I'll be playing a new save and trying to get through all three.

I hope this stays alive? I've friended a lot of people on Steam but I'm also down for Facebook.

Beh, I'm sad to see this go, but the new forums and I'm sure life in general hasn't made it easy to follow posts. :(

I'm on steam as saige and I think origin using the same name.

Onto the topic, I'm actually really looking forward to DAI. I hope they don't stuff it up! It looks really promising, though Morrigan was such a wtf makes no sense! Though I've kept away from story articles cause I like to be surprised, then super rage when BIoware shatters my hopes and dreams like ME3. :P

I also have been trying my best to avoid DA3 spoilers...assuming I even play it, as I still haven't played DA2. And yeah, there's a lot of hype, and 'everyone' is hearing 'great' things, but isn't this the same ol' story? - EA's marketing team is well trained enough to cause this sentiment over and over again, despite their games consistently letting down the vast majority of people in more than one way. *shrugs* ...honestly, thinking about writing off EA as a whole, and if this group does get deleted, one more reason to do so...

Dman, I wrote EA off with ME3. They had already screwed over so many good companies and series, that it was just the final straw. Still, I am constantly seeing the DA3 pictures on Facebook(for a few weeks it was a new picture every three or four days) and I have some other friends who are squealing with delight that it's in the pipeline. I'm happy for them, but I don't trust EA.

Usually I prefer a spoiler free zone too. Still, not sure what to think of it all. I'm not surprised by the Qunari race inclusion (its a similar move as the choice to add the Collecter guy in ME3...such a bad game I've already managed to erase parts of it from my memory...you know, give the fans a little bit of what they want so that badly made parts can be excused by its sheer presence) but I doubt it'll make hardly any difference in the actual gameplay.

By the way, I'll add that email I messenged you all to my Facebook account incase a Facebook group starts up. I'm not on Origin or steam, but then I'm mostly into my consoles.

(Oh my god! What a change here! The forums now look so odd...) Dragon Age 3... well, I am actually very furious. I mean, there is this awesome Collector's Edition, yet it hasn't been announced for PC, yet. And then there is Amazon's Steelbook... also not for PC. Dunno what it's like in the US or in Europe, in general. But it is a HUGE put-off. It's like: "go, buy a new console - pc gamers simply aren't worth the effort anymore." Thank you!

Next thing is, that they (EA Germany?) do a voice casting. Since "liking" Dragon Age on Facebook automatically only gets me the German news, I can only assume from comments that they also did one in the US. I would have LOVED to take part in it and audition for a role. But: video only. You absolutely have to have access to a service that allows video uploads. I hate videos, I hate Skype, I am so totally embarrassed every time I have to call someone. And it takes a lot of practise for me to call someone and even more so to vid-call someone. (My dad used to record me singing and babbling all the time when I was a toddler and since then, I hate recordings of me.)

So, I really looked forward to DA3, especially Cu. and Va. and Ca. (to keep it spoiler-free ;) ), but now... everything has become dull. :/ :(

Damn, forgot to answer the question: IF one can import a save from DA:O/DA2, and maybe one is able to continue DA:O's character, then of course, my first main is a human female. That's how I continued with my fan fic - I simply took my character from DA:O who was asked to join the Inquisition. So, of course, I hope that somehow your actions are taken into consideration since all the races from DA:O are back.

human female, rogue - business as usual ;)

You all see the $200 ebgames edition?

 http://www.ebgames.c...xbox-360/319490

Its already sold out on .ca atleast. Not worth the money but it is in range with other "boxes" editions Ive seen. It is made by Triforce aswell.

Yup, that's the CE. In Germany, it's a GameStop exclusive.

http://www.gamestop....-age#section|ce

(I don't know how to make links work.)

Plattforms: PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 - 170 Euros (230 USD or so) for newer consoles, 160 for the consoles before.

Yeah I'm surprised that it sold out on every platform within a week. Ive been seeing alot of collectors, deluxe, whatever editions on clearance for the 360 atleast. People arn't willing to put out the big money on the 360 anymore it seems.

I'll be buying the $80 digital deluxe version, couldn't afford the $200 one regardless.

While I have a PS3 and 360, I'm a PC gamer. So unless it's exclusively on one of those, I always prefer a PC CE version. Shame that it doesn't really seem like DAI on PC is getting one. I guess I'll be getting it over on Origin simply because it's the only way for me to get the extras here. But yeah. DAI is probably my last straw that I hope doesn't get broken.

Plus also trying to keep way from major spoilers. I also believe we're playing a new character, so it's not the Warden or Hawke. Though I'd imagine they'd be a save transfer thingo like always. Not sure if it would matter considering how disappointing ME3's ended up being.

...seriously, if they don't release a physical PC copy of DA3, that pretty much guarantees I won't get it. Not to get off topic, but I've been looking everywhere for a PC copy of the new Thief...apparently a physical copy wasn't even released in the U.S. - digital only, which considering how laughable our internet is, I don't see the logic at all. I think I might be able to go through amazon.uk or some such to get a physical copy, but then would it even work? *le sigh*

I won't buy it unless it is a physical copy regardless.  I reserve my rights as a consumer!  Once I buy it, I'm not leasing it...it's mine for good!

And yes, it'll be a brand new character, never seen before.  I read a little backstory on him/her, but you have the character creator at the beginning as always and that's about as much as I'm willing to tell on that one.

If they do allow you to carry over saves, I imagine they would just involve things like the gender and race of your Hawke and Warden.  Obviously, killing off Zevran in my first game had no effect whatsoever in keeping him dead in the second game so I doubt they'll manage to keep things like that altogether for a third one.  However, since my Warden chose to die in my first DAO, I would be very annoyed if I found her to be alive and waging war in the Inquisition.  Just saying...  Anyone wishing we could go to Tevinter instead?  Or is that going to be in there?  I always wanted to go home to Elswyr in the Elder Scrolls (my cat never made it home...none of them did!) but I don't recall ever getting the chance.

By the way, unrelated but...  http://www.bigbadtoy...ing&utm_content=  It has a $330 pricetag but dang....I didn't like Garrus that much.  Didn't hear about this coming out until seeing it right there.

According to the artbook (Art of Thedas), I guess, we'll be seeing Tevinter. Unless it's only artwork to give merchandise creators an idea on how Tevinter looks like.

Disc: Remember Me had such a small disc release in Germany that the game itself was sold out with major retailers for months after only three or four months. I was lucky to get one later but it gives you an idea on how companies WANT to limit disc releases to mainly distribute digital only copies. Lower production cost, prices don't drop as fast, digital rights etc. My new internet connection actually makes downloading small games (Steam) look like fun (20 Mbps). But I don't want to use it for regular huge games. - Apparently, Thief also was a limited disc release in Europe. Then they really have to handle this like one of my Japanese shops does. They highlight the item as a limited release, so no one can complain later.

So, well, I really like the screenshots with green wood and water, but not so much the screenshots with deserts. I am aware that Thedas must have desert but they look so artificial. Brings back memories of Dragon Age 2 - and not the good kind.

From the concept art, the cities in Dragon Age 2 looked so vibrant. And I even liked the Wastelands from the concept with that dust lingering. But in the end game, everything was so lifeless.

For Dragon Age 3, each time they release a screenshot of a desert or desert fortress, it actually gives me the creeps. Will I only like the forest+lake areas? Will I try to rush through the desert areas?

Just to clarify when I said digital deluxe version i meant the 360 deluxe where all the extras are digital like the signature edition for DA2. I to vastly prefer a disc/hard copy/whatever.

I haven't looked at much at all myself.

So on topic, I just looked up Ebgames for that box edition that Dan link a bit back. It wasn't available here in Australia and it seems it is now. It's actually the same price which is amazing. Usually they're much more expensive in Australia. The only option I had was to get Origin's $90 digital version or nada. Since I want it on PC and would like a boxed copy with the extras, I opted to get it. One of the most expensive CE's I've ever bought for what one gets. So hopefully it's good quality. I opted to get it as it really is the defining game if I keep preordering Bioware's games. So fingers crossed that they learnt what not to do to their franchises and fan bases.

I had hoped for more news... :( Classes (or abilities), a bit more story or setting. Or a tiny anouncement - about the CE being available for PC in Germany. :(

Well, E3 is going on now and you know EA is going to show it there. Any good E3 news, anyone?

Unrelated, I finally got my Mirrors Edge 2of confirmation out of E3 so if it makes it to the stores and doesn't end up canceled just before I just might give EA yet another chance...

I meant news from the E3. Nothing exciting yet. I am not that unworldly that I don't know that E3 is going on. ;)

Jeez... Freddie Prinze Jr. wore a Mass Effect Renegade tee in his voice-over trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition. (This isn't a spoiler, is it?) His character needs some serious spanking. How can you wear a Mass Effect tee while working on Dragon Age? Blasphemy! He should have worn a Qunari tee. :(

I guess he didn't want to broadcast being a Qunari?

Some news on the German Dragon Age 3 Inquisitor's Edition:

... can only be pre-ordered in our local stores. Please proceed to our store locator.

And that's about it for me. No stores close to me. I also cannot/will not ask my dad to drive me 120 km to the next store. It's also not an option to ask a friend to buy a game for 160 Euros and ship it to you. You simply don't do that for a game. Must seem like a very elusive problem compared to the situation in a wide-spreaded country like the US or Canada, but atm I so totally pissed. They f***** up everything. Do a pre-order only edition if you don't want to ship unknown numbers to various stores, but not THIS.

Standard edition so that I have a disc.

What's it like in the US/Canada? Also only limited to store orders?

Here, you can preorder online if you want to but you can choose to pick it up at your local store or just recieve it via the mail.  It is odd to me that yours would require you to actually go to a store for pickup and preorder.  Any department stores you could attempt a preorder through?  I think Walmart and Best Buys around here do preorders as well, though I doubt quite as many as gamestop does.  120km is a long ways to drive for a game but I'll admit I've driven further than that for one before.  Back in the good old days....  ~sighs~  Gas wasn't so expensive back then and I had a lot more games on my list to collect than I could track down.  >_>

I already pre-ordered the regular edition and this will be all. Unless I win some money in the next months, I won't buy an additional Digital Deluxe edition. That's EA's loss there. I am not even thankful that there is a PC version of the IE anymore simply because anyone in a big city can really rub it in now but mainly because ebay will have a lot of fun. And prices will be worse than what they were for some lithographs (in the USA).

And worst: till now not a single person has said why the PC IE is an in-store-pre-order only when all console IE are not. (It really fits here that UBI said that the PC version of Watch Dogs only contributes 10% to the total units sold. PC versions simply aren't worth the effort anymore. Thank you.)

---

Anyways, I will put a female mage right under Cullen's nose. I wanted to do that since he was confirmed for DA:I.
