Since the author took it down intentionally, it is questionable as to whether it would be ethical to upload it without his permission. And it is too big for BSN

Why did he remove the mod from most the internet? Did something scandalous happen?

Multiple reasons would be my guess. There were incredibly nasty comments on Nexus, complaints, etc. The comments weren't as nasty on BSN, but showed a definite inability to read since most questions had been answered multiple times. Then there was the person who - without permission - extracted the voice files from 1.5 and made them a available for 1.6 (there was a planned updated to the voiceover files).
The mod author of a HUGE mod comes back after a multiple month hiatus, finds incredibly nasty comments and complaints, people distributing his work without permission....... I'd say that he had a few reasons that he could choose from. 
I wish him well and hope he is enjoying whatever he is doing now.

Does anyone have a copy of this they could send me over email or Dropbox? I forgot to save a copy when I first downloaded it, so when it came time to redo my Dragon Age install, it was a very nasty surprise to find that this had been pulled.
I have 1.5, but I've found out that I need a "small fixes" addon or else it won't play, and I can't find that either.
