Hello everyone! I have a huge problem with OC.

It seems that when I am about to meet Casavir for first time he doesn't actually appear! Only Katriona and two mercenaries attacks the orcs. After the fight there's no intro or anything. I can't even go to the world map so I am pretty much stuck.

Is there anything I can do? I have a save game just before I have to decide wether to kill Yaisog or not...I have tired several paths already but the result is always the same.

Any help is appreciated :)

I know nothing about this, but it looks like these two links had similar problems and both found a solution.

Yeah seems to be same sort of problem in the first glance but I already tried to edit globals.xml without a result. Thanks anyway for your effort!

Yes, sadly, this is but one of many script misfires in the vanilla game. I've had it happen several times. I've also had him appear, be recruited, and then not have the final cutscene between him and Katriona fail to happen. I usually make a manual save - not the autosave - in the orc lair before you get there, just to be safe.

Not sure if it would work (never had this happen on me), but would rs ka_roster_edit work? That command adds every companion, even the ones you haven't met yet.

Hmm I cannot launch debug mode from laptop. I need Alt Gr + double click on ~button and that doesn't seem to work on me. Is there a way to edit roster from files?

As an alternative to opening the console, you can use the chat box (hit Enter), and preface console commands with "##" as in:

##debugmode 1

Okay I tried roster edit but it didn't work. Casavir is not on the list. He seems to be disappeared from whole game :( I even restarted a save from outside the cave, run it all through but still Casavir will never appear. No intro, nothing. Something must have gone very wrong even earlier...

Just to make sure, is your override empty? Overrides can sometimes make the game act up.

Otherwise, you may have to rar the save file and upload it for the the rest of the Sands here to see. I am not Sand, but we have a couple here who I swear are master transmuters. Or something.

Also, in your save folder, do you have a file named casavir.ros?

Override folder seems to be empty.

But there's no casavir.ros in my save folder. In fact also Zhjaeve.ros is missing too (I am not sure if it should be there at the moment). Could that cause the problem? I take a look back older saves and there's no casavir.ros in there either...

Okay that certainly did the trick! Thanks for your help Elrith Galadon! I copied all missing .ros-files from older save to the current save folder and now Casavir appeared normally. I was missing totally 7 .ros-files! That's weird corruption on save file.

Anyway, thanks all and hope this helps others too :)

Glad it worked! I wish Obsidian would have beta'ed this ramshackle of a game before putting it on market, but Obsidian's not the only guilty one of this crime... oh well.

I've experienced other files in the save folder being missing when I save after the computer has been running out of free memory.  Certain modules are so memory intensive that I start seeing textures go missing, and if I save during that time, I'm almost certain to be missing some files in the save folder.  Usually module files.
