I wouldn't call it overwhelming. Grey Warden could be a temp companion for one mission, or he could have just been debugged into the party.

Well, he also appeared in a post where they talked about a completely hypothetical (
) Grey Warden companion.
Why would only one of those nine characters be a temp companion, if everyone else is confirmed to be a permanent one? We know there are nine companions, and three advisors, and there are twelve (nine plus three) characters in that War Table picture. Sometimes the obvious answer really is accurate, and I don't see how there's much room left to doubt at this point. If the Grey Warden isn't a companion, why is he with eight other characters who are? Who would replace him, and why haven't we seen them in any other art or gameplay footage?
I will concede that yes, nothing is truly "confirmed" until a developer actually confirms it, but by this point we can be pretty near certain. For the Grey Warden not to be a party member at this point, a whole bunch of signposted information, art and screenshots would have to be wrong - and none of it looks wrong.
