I remember it took 3 playthroughs to unlock the Insanity achievement. I stiil use N7 gamer picture you got as a reward.
Same here
In ME1, I got the turian, asari, krogan and human (ashley) ally achievement.
In ME2, I have every single achievement. I don't have the insanity achievement in ME1 (never bothered playing it for a third time after I met Thane in ME2).
No thane = no mass effect, for me.
On a side note, here's something that happened. After ME2, my top 3 characters were thane, mordin and legion. Midway through my first ME3 playthrough, I started cursing BioWare with the meanest of words as they killed all those three. I stopped playing ME3 for a few days after all those 3 died. Good job Bioware. ![]()
Thane is who I got the paramour achievement with my canon Shepard, Mass Effect 3 was a huge slap in the face.
I'm currently going for Hero of Sanctuary (Hardcore) (an in-game Diablo Achievement) - Reach Level 60 in Hardcore Mode (Dead is Dead).
Which means 4 playthroughs of increasing difficulty.. I'm currently level 39 and only a quarter through my second playthrough.
It's giving me palpitations though at times
Still recording the whole thing and will be bookmarking some moments where I have mini heart attacks. It's definitely an exciting way to play the game!
Another good cheevo at least for me was getting 500 kills online in Duke Nukem 3D for XBLA. I didn't realize until about 400 kills in that suicides actually counted towards that achievement. Lol. I did actually blow myself up and an enemy with the pipebombs a lot. Made for some funny stuff.
Another funny one was in Gears 1 when you beat a Berserker for the first time on Hardcore or higher. The name of it was My Love For You Is Like A Truck which is a reference to the first Clerks movie. It wasn't until I watched it again then I got the reference, hahaha.
That's a good point actually. I agree. I beat me3 on insanity for my first playthrough in a few days without too many problems (although I got stuck at Kai Leng for like 2 days). However, I struggled on the One and Only and actually ended up dropping the difficulty (in shame) to get that cheevo. Had they made it an insanity only requirement, it would probably have been one of the toughest out there.
As a reminder, it's this one:
Defeat a group of Spectre-level opponents on Normal, Hardcore, or Insanity.
50 UNLOCKED
Edit: Come on, I think Kahje's Finest Outlier Spectre is one of the hardest achievements out there!
I bought Mass Effect day one in 2007, I got the Asari ally achievement in 2011. I still don't have Turian ally, last time I tried to play Mass Effect I got bored before Jenkins demise.
Limbs, did you have the ME 2 squadmates glitch out on you when you attempted to fight the clones in the combat sim?
Yes! I wanted to take Wrex for that fight but every time I tried it went wrong so I eventually settled for stupid Liara.
Hah! I knew I was not alone!

I just used the Venom to send the clones packing, the single player version is absolutely ridiculous.

I know, in hindsight, I'm sure it would be a cake-walk with the Venom. I only discovered it after I had dropped the difficulty. You can basically 3 shot atlases on Insanity in SP with it. ![]()

That with an infil or a soldier class?

I was using a soldier class. I don't know if it was exactly three (charged shots), but it it honestly felt like it. It was a joke.

Cause I know with an infil it's at least two charged shots to kill an atlas in SP.

Yeah, it was awesome. Having some OP weapons in SP is not the worst thing.. ![]()

I feel your pain. I eventually went with Tali and EDI (this was on my infil run) cause of the pet powers and strangely, the clones went right for them if they didn't see me or my squadmates.
I forgot one. There's an achievement in Batman: Arkham City where you have to fight a whole bunch of enemies with knives, guns, hammers, genetically mutated beasts like Bane. I did it almost flawlessly (I just took one blow in a ~8 min long fight sequence) on the highest difficulty. It is definitely one of my favorites.
Is that a combat challenge or is it in game? I don't remember that...
It's in game. It's close to the end - when you go to confront the joker, but before taking on Hugo Strange. You fight about 15 people or so at once including those mutated henchmen, that one armed russian fellow with hammer (forgot his name) and a bunch of other knive and gun wielding henchmen. Even joker is one of the enemies in that fight, although he is a total pushover for batman's 1337 skills.
If that doesn't refresh your memory, this might: After that fight, the ceiling will collapse on you and catwoman comes to rescue you. ![]()
It's not a terribly difficult fight if you can string combos and use your gadgets wisely but getting it done 'almost' flawlessly is an special to me. ![]()
^ Yes, you are correct. Stringing 100x, 150x combos in that challenge mode is extremely fun. ![]()
One achievement I loved doing was going through all of Ninja Gaiden 2 with just the lunar staff. That is my favorite weapon in that game.
What's the lunar staff?
After wiping trying to solo in me3 yesterday, I decided to putz around in Defiance like a scrub.
Here's a PvP game with a lot of lols that ended up netting me the "Freight Magnate" Achievement for 15 victories in the Freight Yard.
I started just trying to nab a few headshots but was having trouble with all the close combat situations and ppl using shotguns and grenade tossers. So i took out my rocket launcher and had some fun with a little revenge towards the end. ![]()
