It seems like every franchise these days is jumping on the MMORPG bandwagon.  Can't really blame developers since gamers think pirating is the new cool and hip thing to do but still do you think a Mass Effect MMORPG could possibly work?

I say no because a Mass Effect MMORPG would feel soulless compared to the single player games where we have well written memorable characters.
Seeing that replaced with "Comand3rShepp@rd234" and "Wrx" would just cheapen the whole franchise.

No, I think I'm right. This was originally planned as a trilogy. The Trilogy will end the main storyline but there will still be spin offs like Mass Effect Kart, Mass Effect Guitar Hero, Bioware VS Capcom, Mass Effect MMORPG and of course the inevitable Mass Effect movie directed by Uwe Boll.



Mass Effect is a big franchise now and they'll keep churning out whatever piece of crap in a box they can so long as people still buy it on name alone.

I know what you mean.  Can't they at least have a single player campaign or something?

It would be a big mistake and ruin the legacy of the game.

I have doubts about TOR working out as well. Star Wars MMO's don't work out.

In all seriousness though, it could very well happen, and I'm sad to say that i'd probably buy it too

but, with bioware, they could most likley pull it off. Heck, they even managed to make sonic into something decent again, and thats saying a lot

BTW where is the stupid spell check on the standerd comment box? You know, the one that lets you do happy faces

One Star Wars MMO has been made.  It was made by SOE.  From conception that was recipe for disaster.

In case you nim-wits haven't noticed, they have a team of writers (around a dozen) working on TOR's MULTIPLE story lines.

They also have Drew Karpyshyn writing for the game.

It will be amazing.

Oh, and if you don't like MMO's you can solo the entire game's story-driven aspect without having to get into the MMO much (if at all).

The only problem with that is... the part where you need a computer! And by that, I mean a computer that can play games. I'm a console gamer through and through and I want another Star Wars RPG like KOTOR. But noooooo, instead they go PC only and MMO. Fail

A computer isn't necessary for an MMORPG. A Mass Effect MMORPG could be made for consoles.
